Music Production Course

Hey guys.

Coursera is offering an introductory music production online course by Berklee College of Music for free.

Even though most us have already obtained a decent amount of knowledge, I think it will be beneficial or at least a good learning experience for me to sign up to try to become more knowledgeable about my craft.

I was wondering if anyone else wished to sign up with me and go through the program with me. Classes begin tomorrow and have, as listed, about a 6-8 hour workload weekly which seems very doable.

If none of you are interested in joining this with me, I'll keep this thread open to share knowledge and experiences about this program -- Hopefully it will be as good as I expect it to be.

I signed up even though I work 70 hours a week. DX I don't know how to do any of the stuff they mention that I should kind of know. Do you use fl studios CBR? If so, can I come to you for help if I need it?

I wish SO BAD that I had time to do this.

I mean, its too late anyway. Working on School + Job + Career at the same time doesn't leave much time for anything else.

It has begun. Chuggin' through these videos and quizzes at the moment -- learning is fun :>

And yes FL Studio is a perfectly acceptable DAW. Also, sad to see some of you can't make it but I understand the responsibility that work and school has over something such as this.

same. most stuff is pretty easy, what is amplitude and stuff

i'm not exactly looking forwards to the video assignment thing though

Agreed, also heard the video assignment is kinda "meh" from reading the forums. I'll get over it though xd
Oh well, hopefully next week we get into the audio creation / editing process and then have that peer reviewed.

Finished first 5 videos and associated quizzes -- done for today :P

P.P.S. Louden said we should discuss what we're doing (course-related, obviously) on the forums, and I think this would be an okay time to introduce ourselves (meaning those taking the course) to everyone else in the class. Along with the internet and provided resources, we have people to talk to if we ever get stuck on anything.
