Re: FFR 7th Official Tourney Songs Discussion: Round 2
My intial reaction to the D5 chart:
I mean sure, the chart fits the song and the file is technically pretty sound... but like, why this song man Gonna be a chore to play this file, as I need to have the music to cue me for the random color arrow bullshit, but I hate the song so much. If there ever was a poster child for stop stepping shitty BMS of Fighters songs, this would be it *sigh* I suppose there are people out there who like this sound. Who am I to judge Since 1983 looked okay, the burst patterns were strange in spots and it's somewhat inconsistently layered. Not a bad addition to FFR by any means though. Wish some of the polyrhythms could have been handled differently, but at least the resulting weirdness will make for a good tournament chart. Probably a bit easy for D6 though!

D4: Totally a funner chart than last round. Though why my BF didn't count is retarded regardless what you have to say about it.
D6: I was very excited to see this song on the front page post. Your chart's pretty good and very much like the SM. Your patterns are a lot more retarded though. Sill pretty enjoyable. |

Re: FFR 7th Official Tourney Songs Discussion: Round 2
Since 1983 was a disappointment to me. 99% of the 16th runs in there did NOT in any way feel like 16ths, and the polyrhythms seemed completely unnecessary. Very happy I AAA'd so early so I don't have to play it again. Great song choice, though it could have been stepped much better. Sorry :/
Keep it up with the rock genre though!

Re: FFR 7th Official Tourney Songs Discussion: Round 2
I thought A FLOWER GARDEN was hilarious lol, and I knew it just HAD to be a bmah file just by the down up arrow color trills while playing it sightread >.> but honestly it's one of the few FFR files I actually enjoy playing lol

D5:
Ending jump/single trill is bad... i like most of it as long as I dont get mind blocked... Keep missing a random note here and there.

Re: FFR 7th Official Tourney Songs Discussion: Round 2
Flower Garden is easier than Euro Morroc imo. It's glutty, but at least it doesn't target my heavy weakness to dense-JS. If I make it to round 3, I'll have bmah to thank.
Yellow Leaves is a little TOO easy. Not only is it easier than Addict, but it's easier than D3's song imo. CS Custom Gun Sounds has jacks merged with hands. Yellow Leaves is just JS really. Quote:
I still like the song though. Last edited by Mike Weedmark; 07-15-2012 at 12:33 AM.. |

Re: FFR 7th Official Tourney Songs Discussion: Round 2
D1: Enjoyable
D2: More enjoyable than last round, even though I hate dubstep D3: Tiny jacks going into hands were tricky, still really fun to play D4: Almost as bad as Addict and probably a lot tougher to improve since it's so long, only redeeming quality is that the song is pretty awesome to listen to D5: When I started playing I was thinking there was finally going to be a bmah file I liked, then there was the 32nd mush and the crap at the end. If you want to make a file hard I guess...the first half was fun though D6: Not good enough to read the fast streams in the middle, everything else I could read was pretty fun to play |

Re: FFR 7th Official Tourney Songs Discussion: Round 2
After having played D1-D5 I can sincerely say that D2 is the best file / song choice combo out of the bunch followed closely by D4.
I feel sorry for the fellow D5ers that might choke on this file -- glad I sightread it~! |

Re: FFR 7th Official Tourney Songs Discussion: Round 2
Since 1983 was really well stepped in my opinion, and I've played this song countless times on ITG so I'm 100% certain about the way it's stepped being pretty accurate (rhythmically). Layering is questionable in a few areas, but it's still very fun and definitely something I will come back to when playing just for fun. Nice work DarkZtar.

Re: FFR 7th Official Tourney Songs Discussion: Round 2
I had a 2-0-0-0 run going then I got 3 goods because I literally winced at the off key flute section
EDIT- I mean there isn't really much wrong with the file, I rather enjoy the file on mute (but I can't do the color trill with it muted) Wish the pacing was a little better, some of the boring sections are too long and slow feeling but really WHY THIS SONG MAN HNNG

Re: FFR 7th Official Tourney Songs Discussion: Round 2
I think we need to flip yellow leaves and addicts difficulties. This is def way easier. I would have sight read if I wasn't getting derpy lag, and there's already quite a few AAAs. This will be AAA or die most likely. Love the chart though.
