YouTube gaming channel

So I'm thinking of buying an HD PVR and recording some gameplay/commentaries to upload on YouTube. If you've ever watched Machimima/Machinima Respawn vids, that's what I'm aiming for. I've been wanting to start a YouTube channel to do this for a long time, but never had the money to invest in a pvr and a good enough laptop to actually edit video with. Well, now I do! Just graduated and got a job.

Here's a list of what I'll need to buy:
HD PVR ~ $200
New laptop (which I need anyway) capable of editing videos ~ $600
PS3 (the one I have at home my dad bought, so it's not mine lol) $300

I'd be curious to know if any of you guys do this sort of thing already and have any tips for me, or if you watch Machinima or gameplay vids online.

Oh, one other thing - my apartment (it's a 3br) only has one TV outlet in one of the other rooms and not the living room, which means I won't be able to watch any TV in my room, just play PS3. Lol.

Good luck getting support with this.
Are you talking about yer own channel or a community channel?
Either way, submit some videos into MachinaRespawn so you can start to get some support. I wish I had a PvR but for 200$ it's not worth it D:

Well, I'd probably start my own channel first. From what I know, Machinima usually doesn't post videos unless you've got at least a couple hundred subs at the very least.

Good for you =D, I like your idea. I hope it turns out well! And I agree with lonew0lf about the MachinimaRespawn uploads to start getting support and momentum on the project.

Not true someone started uploading when they had like 50.
Just make a really good video and if they upload it expect around 50-100 subs.
Just keep it fresh, no cookie cutter commentary or some just average black ops gameplay.
