How I nearly go blind in just 10 minutes
That happened a few minutes ago. I was on Skype with someone and all of a sudden, I was starting to see little floaters grouped together (just like when you switch on a dead channel and there's noise/snow) in my peripherical vision. Hard to explain, but I could make a drawing of this. It kept on growing until I was experiencing tunnel vision and couldn't even read anything clearly on my screen. Closing my eyes and reopening them didn't help and so I tried laying and relaxing in hope it would get better. It helped a bit and now I can write this message but I'm still having troubles and my vision is only starting slowly to get better. I'm shaking like a dead leaf right now. Will probably schedule a appointment with an ophtalmologist during the week-end.
My guess is that it's related to fatigue, stress and eyestrain but I just hope it won't be recurrent. Anyone ever had any problems with their vision watching tv/computer screens ? edit : I may have experienced retinal migraine or amaurosis fugax edit2 : oh shit, it totally looked like this : edit3 : I know what it was, it was a preceeding sign of a migraine. I had a huge migraine 2-3 weeks ago but didn't had any visual signs. At least I'm pretty sure it's not cardiac-related, but still, I'll go consult. edit4 : this one is even more precise : Same exact shit but the center was all blurry.

I've had this before but I didn't lose as much vision as you.
Even one migraine is worth a doctor's visit. One that bad is definitely gonna need one. I used to think most of my headaches were migraines until I had my first migraine. Wow.

i've talked to shadowdueler about this a few months ago and i still need to get my eyes checked because this happens to me whenever i play way too much ffr. maybe its related to blood pressure in my case but idk, i go totally blind while playing sometimes and ive ruined so pretty decent runs because of it

I have experience with this personally, and without saying specifics, this can be a very serious thing.
Please go see a doctor asap. |

Re: How I nearly go blind in just 10 minutes
Keep Glaucoma in mind, that can be very serious. I haven't had my eyes checked in a couple of years so I need to get that checked out soon as well.
I know what this is like, but this usually only happens if I'm very ill or have been staring at the computer screen for too long without blinking and no breaks looking somewhere else. The worst pain I experienced in my eyes was a few weeks ago when I had a sore threat and was vomiting, and then my eyes were hurting like crazy. Somebody could be right in front of me and that person would be out of focus -- I could make out the silhouette of the person, but everything in the middle would just look like a white blob/out of focus. I remember playing FFR one time when this happened and I got 300+ goods on 2-9, I literally just saw a bunch of white spots instead of the screen. I could recover from this by resting for a while, but it can gradually get worse over time.

Re: How I nearly go blind in just 10 minutes
I experienced this during a final exam two years ago. It didn't hurt, I just lost sight. Never happened to me again after, though. Tbh i had forgotten about it before reading this thread.

This happened to me a couple of weeks ago. I didn't see a doctor though...I assumed the only reason it happened was because I was studying extremely hard on about 3 hours of sleep.
