Weird. Midlothian here. It's strange that our strip malls are set up near identically.

He was wielding a Wii controller and was demanding Atari cartridges be re-released.

Other than that .. wow man .. you almost got pegged as an armed robber. Good that Mom and Dad didn't have to come bail you out

You'd be surprised how common a set up like that is. There's a Michael's across the street from my mall, which also has a GS with another across the street, and a Panera in the parking lot.

As to the story... Holy crap on a stick, you're lucky he didn't freak and grab you. Personally I would have freaked and tried to claw his eyes out. I'm a bit jumpy when someone grabs me.

you could always try squealing like a little girl and start throwing pokemon plushies at him off the shelf. Almost as good as a taser for sure!

I have to say that you are one lucky son of a...

When you were playing, wasn't there a commotion or something going on behind you? I'm not doubting your story, but I find it odd that a ruckus wouldn't ensue once the panic sets in with the realization that the robber had a gun. So there was either no commotion or you were just too engrossed in GH3. Which one is it?

I was very wrapped up in the game. When I walked in, it seemed business as usual except for the kid crying, which I later figured was because he was the first person to see the gun. My back was to the counter, so the prime spot for the gunman to take up would have been directly behind me, in front of the game demos anyway.

Rock You Like a Hurricane, as it was only the demo. And once the guy fled, the dad grabbed his son and bolted out of the store post haste. And then there was a commotion as the staff began evacuating the store.

Playing Guitar Hero during a hostage situation... That has got to be one of the funniest things I've heard in a while.
