+1 support for sticky.

On the one hand, it's pretty cool that this forum is so popular that adbots are starting to notice it, but on the other hand, nobody wants adbots spamming up their favorite forum.

Plus, the fact that so many people seem unaware that this happens is probably a good sign that this needs to be stickied (or even announced) for the education of all.

^ Agreed. Just because FFR is good at killing the adbots doesn't mean that it's users shouldn't know what they are. This thread = good education for that.

You do something smart on the registration page like add a captcha image, or just add a simple question like, "What is 2+2?". The bot won't be able to put in the answer, and therefore won't be able to register.

I chuckled every time someone replied as though it were a real person. It seems as if most people on the FFR forums are used to no adbots and are therefore sheltered to their existence.

We do.

We have both, actually.

When people want to do something, they will find ways around bot circumvention.

it's nearly impossible to block ad bots from posting on forums, they're made to bypass "normal bot capture" means. Do a search on who develops ad bots and you'll find out a little bit more about how ingeniously they're coded.
