DESIRE DRIVE [Heavy] was my favourite file this week by far.

TFE seems like a conspiracy to make me AAA a 81 that's actually a 78 at best.

I didn't even notice the missing jump until OWA pointed it out. Now it's gonna piss me off every time I play it. Awesome file otherwise.

Agreed that this really shouldn't be an 80+. 77 or 78 sounds more accurate IMO

Quick, everyone get scarhand before it's bumped down!

(I kid, but I do somewhat agree.)

I think either the vast majority of D5+ players are disproportionately good at jumpstream compared to most other high FMO+ patterns, or we're going to need to come up with a new standard for rating hard files with jumpstream as the main focal point in difficulty. Too many files in the 80-85 range are apparently overrated (Casino, MFDFY, this file, Return to Fire, among others...), and I'm inclined to agree if I only focus on how difficult the file feels, as most of these jumpstreamier files have been significantly easier to AAA (take something like Tageri vs. TFE). Trying to rate these jumpstream-heavy files creates some dissonance between how hard the file seems and where it should be objectively rated on the scale (e.g. 240bpm jumpstream with jumps every quarter note seems at least mid-FGO in difficulty, and certainly less than 8 points away in difficulty from something like Extratone, whose ending is twice the length but only 10bpm faster, but most of us realize that MFDFY doesn't feel like an 84 at all...)

Gonna have a chat with Eze later and think about what should be done with these files in particular. Because yes, I agree, something like Casino feels like a low 80, but I'd be pretty uncomfortable creating a potential 14 point gap between that and something like Winter Wind Etude (constant 210bpm jumpstreaming with polys...I'm not saying it isn't much more difficult, but a 14 point seems a little absurd)

Anyways, yeah...

I say no to Casino Fire. That jumpstream is hard as fuck to hit. Well for me.

Then again, I have just as much trouble on Love & Justice. I don't know.

I'm pretty certain it's the former, most people (up to high D6/low D7) find Extratone Pirates' (which most people agree is a 92/93) ending jumpstream almost impossible to PA compared to Casino Fire Kotomi-chan/My Fxxkin Desire For You/The First Epidemic (which MOST people in D5+ find them to be 78-81) which is cakewalk for most D5+ players, although EP's jumpstream has more one hand trills, slightly faster and longer, a 12-14 point gap is just silly. You can argue that EP has other parts besides the jumpstream, but those patterns don't warrant a 12-14 point boost either. (ps on a personal level I feel that EP is a 88 but lol everyone will kill me if I say something like that)

Jumpstream (especially ones that aren't dense a la Jamais Vu and Crow's Ghost) is just one of those types of patterning which you can do or you can't. If you're fast enough to hit jumpstream, you can hit it almost effortlessly CONSISTENTLY, as compared to files with bursts which are more complex and requires some luck to hit. Extratone Pirates' jumpstream feel like an 86 to me, but I don't rate it as an 86 just because I could hit it. Not everyone can hit fast jumpstream, thus the average D4 player could potentially get 25-30 goods on files like The First Epidemic, which is probably reasonable for an 81, while players who are ever so slightly faster than them can snag an SDG or something similar like low teens because they could hit the jumpstream without problem. Does it make it any easier on an objective level only because they are slightly faster? No, it doesn't.

just my 2 cents, I am inclined to agree that The First Epidemic is 77-78 on a subjective level, but 240 BPM jumpstream in the high FMO range sounds pretty silly if we have files like Sleep in there too.

extratone is 90+ because it's not only the jumpstream

the jumps + 32nd bursts are insane too ! ! !

based on a combination of best scores and highest AAAs. There isn't too much exact science in it, but people can generally get a good consensus
