I wasn't trying to talk to you like you weren't here Zageron. That implies that I somehow wouldn't say the exact same thing right to you if you asked.

I think that you're incredibly zealous in your attempts to make one-handed playing out to be extra-special, despite the fact that in at least one other thread you seem to have admitted that you understand that the style you play is and should be irellevant to whether a great score gets respect or a crappy score doesn't.

You just really do often post in a way that sounds like you just want to get there to be official recognition for a list that you'll actually be near the top of.

the fact that you choose a method of play that may or may not inhibit your ability to achieve scores as high as people who use another style does not make your scores worth any more than scores achieved a different method.

Very true. Not only does this apply to one-handed playing vs. two-handed, it shares the same principle as two or three-fingered one-handed playing vs. four-fingered one-handed playing. It all boils down to why you are playing. If you are playing to get awesome scores, it won't make sense to play anything other than spread. If you are playing for fun, you can play whatever the heck you want.

On the other hand, I don't see the problem with attempting to glorify certain playing styles. People can choose whether they want to acknowledge the glorification. It only matters to the people who care, which is how things should be. If people don't care, it doesn't matter to them, and they can live their lives being unaffected by it. It doesn't hurt them at all.

Very true. It only becomes a problem when people lose that sense of objectivity and begin to press their ideas of glorification on everyone else.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm not trying to create handicaps for myself. I just never felt comfortable with the idea of having two hands on the arrow keys...especially since I'm on a tiny laptop. I'm not interested in remapping my keys. I just want to play how I feel comfortable. Whether or not other people respect my style I don't really care. Two fingers, three fingers...ten fingers...I don't care. This is how I play. I will never be the best player regardless of the style I play, so I don't see what the problem is. I play for me and according to my own standards. No one else's.

...and I'm just speaking in general. This isn't directed at anyone imparticular.

It's skill level that matters. Level rank just means that you went out of your way to SDG/BF every | to ||||||| difficulty song.

too true, Cj's a lot better than me but my avg rank is better. it means nothing and grand total even less

i always played one handed. i just found it more comfortable than 2 hands
i just started getting good at the end of this summer

btw, I totally use spread a lot now along with one-hand. I'm still a decent one-handed player, but I'm a good deal better with spread, and I'm still really just getting used to it.
