Also, judging by the quality of your posts, your writing skills are probably substandard. Writing typically requires punctuation and good spelling, so if you can't do that, you have no reason to be writing a novel, especially one with a premise that's there just for the sake of having a ridiculous premise, not because it'll make an interesting story. --Guido http://andy.mikee385.com |

I deleted your first post because you're trolling.
Stop. Literature is not a forum for meaningless posts about how you like to get off. And besides, this forum is PG-13. |

Re: NaNoWriMo: Got Balls? (Event has begun!)
A troll on forums is someone who posts in topics simply to incite flame wars, or a situation where people are just throwing around insults.
Also, forums are expected to be a place where you write out words and sentences, just like you would for a story. Since it's not a chat, you have the time to spell out words and even run it through a spell check. Anyway, I'm closing in on 6,000. 2,000 words just in two hours, and I've got a lot more time ahead of me. Seriously, once I got the plot down, this became so much easier. Oh, and I found out today there's a group of people at my university doing this. How did I find out? My English professor told me when I told him that the quality of my papers would suffer since I was doing this event (in a joking manner). It was then that he told me he was also doing the event and was at 20,000 words. =( |

Re: NaNoWriMo: Got Balls? (Event has begun!)
Now, I'm not doing this, but I can do around 2,000-3,000 words an hour, if I'm really going at it.
Stupid work. It's alright, I would have lost motivation anyway.

Re: NaNoWriMo: Got Balls? (Event has begun!)
Don't get me wrong. I have a ton of work to do this month. I don't even know if I can finish, but I'm trying anyway because I really want to succeed.
I have a 12-page research essay due on Monday that I haven't started. I have work on Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Wii launches this Sunday, and company comes down for Thanksgiving on Tuesday. So, I'm trying to get as much as possible done before all of that and then finish up in my remaining time after the Thanksgiving break. Yeah, I've noticed that if I don't take breaks, I can really crank out words. I just spit out 500 more between these posts and I've been interrupted a lot. Like I said, once you get a plot going, 50,000 isn't that many. My biggest problem is going to be to not make the story repetitive while still making it long. |

Re: NaNoWriMo: Got Balls? (Event has begun!)
50,000, while not a terrible number, is still something that's difficult to achieve. Given enough free time in a week, I could probably write something 75,000, but that's what the challenge is: People who have other stuff to do trying to turn out something that resembles a novel. They say that's the hardest part, getting it all down.
Shyeah, right. Hardest part is getting it read.

Re: NaNoWriMo: Got Balls? (Event has begun!)
By the way, I gave up at about 8000 words.
Wii, school finals, Thanksgiving. Not enough time or effort on my part to even bother. They chose a bad month for this event. Try in like June or July. That would be much better. |

You would think it would be, really.
But it's still difficult to write a book.
