I think it's worth it for everyone to make at least one extra chart, even if there are fewer total submissions as a result. With such a long song, I see no problem with simply copying the existing chart and watering down tough sections. Shouldn't take more than an hour. |

If there really is nothing else you can step except your chart, see if you can find someone to collab with you on another chart. I bet there's lots of people out there who would love a fully synced song to try stepping their way. I'm having that problem with Giant Steps right now actually, there isn't much except the sax in that song haha (and it's nearly 5 minutes because something in me doesn't want to cut this masterpiece even though I know I eventually will) But I'm making an easier chart by stepping the piano chords instead. So I think there's always something else you can do. If you continue to have problems even finding someone to collab with PM me we'll see if we can work something out. Honestly yeah, that sounds great. Modern American pop music seems not to be very well-represented in the stepping scene, honestly. p.s. my dirty little music secret is that I love nearly every Nicki Minaj song haha I've always wanted to step Starships. Would be a good color gimmick/BPM gimmick file IMO Not allowed unless they are re-charted. And by virtue of the fact it's already been stepped (by you) means it's already more "Stepman music" than otherwise so I'll probably judge such a file a little more strictly. Good question though, added to the OP. Yeah man there's a lot of good classic rock and metal that are both well-known and would make for excellent stepfiles. As a preemptive measure I'll remind people to not step songs that are already stepped for a rhythm game, however. I'd love if someone were to send me some Black Sabbath files, just don't pick Paranoid please (it was on Rock Band)

Also if anyone is looking for a good challenge, I dare someone to step Asian/Bluegrass fusion:
Such as Katy Hill by Mei Han's Red Chamber with John Reischman and the Jaybirds It's on iTunes and you can get the CD online too, something I've always meant to get and never really got around to it.

Re: [4-key Pack] hi19hi19's Non-Stepman Music Pack [Submissions Open]
In general most generic dubstep is going to get rejected, yeah.
While dubstep is not truly "stepman music" the way say power metal or breakcore are, there's still whole damn packs dedicated to it so I hardly feel bad rejecting generic dubstep from this pack. But who knows maybe there is some dubstep/Gregorian chanting fusion out there or something... Like I said, surprise me :P EDIT- LMFAO I love it when I'm wrong Yes I would accept this song, good luck making a fun file out of it though >_<

I do have a few songs I want to submit. Might give me some motivation to look for some songs. Needs more piano and jazz fusion songs /o/ also, willing to collab on Chillin' by George Duke

working on Dukey Stick by Bootsy Collins & George Duke, Bop Gun by Ice Cube, and Christmas in Hollis by Run DMC. Needs more Jazz Fusion, West Coast Rap, and Rap Rock. Haven't seen too much of those in SM Packs.

hehe, I will enjoy stepping those 3. Especially Dukey Stick. Jazz Fusion needs some love and it will be a challenge to make 2 charts from a 6-minute song, and its the first of the three files I'm working on hehe \o/
