Re: BlackWebb Wishlist [Vote Now!]
Hold release would be pimp
You could make failing to release a hold on time a non combo breaker like ffr boos, so it's something you have to learn for AAAs but not for more casual play also my hold****festfiles would become so much harder >:D

Actually yeah that's a good idea - Make it penalize like a boo if you miss it a little bit, and only have it break combo if you miss it really badly.

7 keys + incorporate the use of the mouse in some way. like having to move the mouse slightly at times. kinda like beatmania.

Re: BlackWebb Wishlist [Vote Now!]
Incorporate the use of space-bar for bass lines. And install a mic for singing. And with an upgraded multiplayer, well have our selves some rockband sht.

Re: BlackWebb Wishlist [Vote Now!]
This is FFR. Let's keep it as FFR. Not another StepMania clone; not another KBO, not another ThirdStyle, just FFR.

Re: BlackWebb Wishlist [Vote Now!]
BlackWebb is supposed to go beyond FFR though. Some new features would be nice as long as they're reasonable.
I still personally believe that there's no harm in making holds/mines optional, so that way you can satisfy those who want it without affecting those who don't. |

Re: BlackWebb Wishlist [Vote Now!]
Please keep ffr original. Marv acc, holds, mines, etc do not belong in ffr. If people want them they can just play stepmania... don't turn ffr into a different looking stepmania.

Re: BlackWebb Wishlist [Vote Now!]
typestyle seems too difficult for casual players to get into and enjoy
there's a reason why piano/keyboard like games are less popular than simpler 4k - 7k games like IIDX/o2jam/sm/ffr there's a limit to how much one can enjoy casual (and even competitive) gaming, and taking all the keys on a keyboard (in rows) into account.. and even incorporating different typestyles (dvorak seems most prominent) is just too confusing for a casual gaming community like that of ffr's just saying :P |

Re: BlackWebb Wishlist [Vote Now!]
I vote holds.
A stepfile with no holds is not as fun as one with them, so in all respect, holds, I think, are mandetory and should not be taken out of the equation. If you think about it, a holds make for great complexity and would really add to the difficulty, insanity, and craziness of a stepfile, which, I believe, is why hods are essential. That is all. |

Re: BlackWebb Wishlist [Vote Now!]
Okay, so I actually played a few games with holds just for funzies because I thought I liked them.
Turns out that I hate them. I think their a cheap trick and pulling off a combo with a hold in it doesn't feel nearly as satisfying as pulling off a difficult pattern.

Re: BlackWebb Wishlist [Vote Now!]
Lately, it seems like more and more often holds get abused like in the old Honor file from KBMP2...it's either outright overkill or a bunch of 32nd measures that just look nice but don't really serve a purpose. Mines aren't as bad, but then there's the practice of putting them in total douche spots like the Torajirou Bowser's Castle file in I forget what pack it was. That will happen and then people will complain about it. Holds and mines have their place and it's not here. We tried doing that stuff in R2, remember?
I say implement them, but keep it separate. As in, separate scorecharts for BW only files. FFR is good enough as it is and turning it into SM would destroy its simple beauty. Also, I'd like to say that if the majority does favor multiple charts, it shouldn't be forced, and for the sake of our sanity no more widget files.

Re: BlackWebb Wishlist [Vote Now!]
Widgets were a great idea in theory, but the fact that the charts had to have appeal to those unused to the rigors of rhythm gaming, the multiple difficulties, and the bands saying WE WANT THIS NAO -> rushed files -> painful results, even if those representing FFR had said "Okay, give us X amount of time to get some decent levels together."
Simartists don't work well on a deadline. :X |
