yeah it's pretty sketchy right now but I've been hearing lots about it. I cant find where my friend saw screenshots of the advent children part...but this is what I have heard...jest relaying info. Did anyone here beat crisis core adn see the ending! Awesome!!!!

It's already been announced that Crisis Core will be the last Final Fantasy game that has to do with FF7. There wont be a remake.

The buzz once again fizzled when one of the producers behind Crisis Core, Hideki Izaizumi, denied that any remake was in the works. Square Enix has even denied that there is to be a remake because the people that were involved in the creation and production of the original game are all currently involved with other projects. However, the company noted that it is possible it could happen but not at this time. So, once again, the dreams of a new-gen presentation of the game were deterred.

Just recently however, (in October, 2007) it was noted on the 1up website that a Final Fantasy VII remake was to be released on January 1, 2008. This was later pushed back to November 1, 2008. Is this true? If Square Enix has adamantly denied any truth behind a remake then why would a prominent website in the videogame industry claim that the game will be released later this year? Does this site know something that the general public doesn’t? Is it wishful thinking? Whatever the case may be, there is no sign that this game is in development. If it was, it would surely be noted on other sites. A game of this magnitude doesn’t come along too often and a remake would most likely not be kept a secret.

I dont think there has been a good DS game since the transfer of mario 64. All the other games just waste the DS's graphic capabilities.

Better start dying then. It isn't going to happen. Not like it matters much anyway; the PS3 can play PSX games, so if you have FF7, you can still play it. Sure it may not be shiny and new, but who cares. It isnt the graphics that matter, its the story and presentation.

Essentially, if you're pining for a remake of FFVII, be patient. Don't post threads saying it's going to happen based on what you think. The way Square-Enix has been remaking the FF games does make it seem like it's going in that direction, but then again, if they were to undertake the task of combining FFVII, Advent Children, and Crisis Core into one game using the same engine, it would not come out of a long time. Let the new FF games that are closer excite you for now.

Also, Izzy, as much as I want to see a remake of FFIX, come on, FFTA2 won't be a waste. >: Neither will FFIV.

From what I heard probably about 5 or 6 months ago is that they were going to make a remake of FF7 for the PS3. But it got cancelled because the word got out too soon and everyone knew about it. I dont't know if this is true but i've heard it from a few people.

Stop saying rumors people, please. If you dont have any solid evidence to post, any official news from a tusted source, then dont start spewing out garbage. Until Square-Enix says there will be a remake we can all assume there wont be one. All one can do is hope for the day that Square-Enix releases the info.

That would be the stupidest reason to cancel the development of a game, ever. Isn't that the point of the news stories: to let hype build, that way when launch comes, they sell more?

Besides, as large as the FF fan base is, its hard to believe that Square-Enix would cancel it if "everyone knew about it." Just goes to show you that all the rumors, whether that its being made or that it was being made, but stopped, are all utter bullcrap.

yeah ff7 for the PSX had a great(doesnt even start to describe the story lol) story and ok graphics for its time, but a remake would make me so freakin happy. And with all the buzz I dont think they could not make it lol I mean look at the ending of Crisis Core. Why the hell would they make that and not make a remake. No reason just to make a 5 min vid of FFVII on the PS3 if they werent going to do it. I dont care what the web says. All the other facts point to a remake and yeah other remakes would be awesome too, but FFVII would be the greatest
