Re: jTWG LXXII: The AniMatrix6 - Post-game
Charu - Definitely showed your vet status with your play. The shit-posting was A+ tier, almost to the point of being obnoxious. That said, your play was still excellent and you pinged out Ben ridiculously fast. Solid town game all around.
dAnceguy117 - Thank you for doing what I was hoping to see from TWG vets/coaches: giving the newer players an opening to speak up, say their thoughts, as well as try to learn mechanics and insight. You may not have done as much to the cause (although you did get Ben into the Box), but your contributions to other aspects made you a highly valuable player in my eyes. reuben_tate - Your case of Toxophilis Syndrome finally ends with a loss for you. Shame you got pinged out, but you were pretty flip-floppy. I know you've been wolf 3 out of 4 times and that doesn't help when you try to play the way you have before. I think the biggest thing was the length of your posts: you made long posts that made it look like you said something, while in reality not saying much at all. Something to keep in mind next time. danceflashrevo - Dude, this was easily your best non-PR game. You said what you thought without being prompted, and didn't reserve your thoughts. You contributed a lot, and made a few ballsy plays near the end there. You also followed true by voting Ben over Storn despite initial suspicion on Storn. I really hope to see you play with this much confidence again. Vendetta21 - You nearly got someone to sub out, lmao. Good cop game from you as you stayed well enough under the radar that you were never considered to be the cop. That said, you basically dug your own grave when suggesting that wolves would stay quiet and let town fight amongst themselves before going silent for a couple of days. Despite that, your flip led to this victory and you gave a unique perspective and insight into how to play this game. Thanks! storn42 - Once again, your skills at somehow finding wolves shines through again. Although you did vote off (and kill) your first ever fellow townie, your hands were tied on that one. All in all, decent town game from you. You spoke up moreso than your last game, and that helped. That said, one of the worst things you can do is agree with people that you are wolfy, but not saying anything as to why, despite that, you're not a wolf. This was the big reason why I think you were nearly lynched D1. RedSludge - Sorry for how this game went down, but I hope you aren't too down with how everyone approached your false claim. One thing I will say is, as a PR, your job is to stay hidden; as a VT, or even a Bulletproof, your job is to do the opposite: Attract the kill. It gives minimal info to the mafia, and keeps your main roles alive that much longer. Either way, I hope to see you around more. _Zenith_ - So close, dude. You did get yourself into an unwinnable situation though, so what can you do. For a first timer, your play was especially ballsy, but you did appear wolfy, noob or not. I noticed you seemed to go back on a lot of your reads, as well as went with the flow a lot. That, mixed with a defense on reuben when it looked like he was going to be lynched, didn't really help. I think if you push that vote on him (AKA bussing), you look for more town after that flip. Ahh well. Hope to see you around more! choof - Nice job attracting the wolf kill N1. They were pretty convinced you were a PR (and V might've helped that), and I think a tiny pbit of fear of you nabbing them played into it. Sunfan said this in the first jTWG when it was revived, but being/attracting the first night's wolf kill as a VT is a very underrated play and, being that kill, helped cement Charu's read, and kept your cop alive longer. MVP goes to danceflashrevo. Charu is a good candidate, but this is jTWG, and DFR was right when he needed to be, and showed the most improvement over other VT games he's played. _Zenith_ also gets a nod for taking a wolf role as a new player and rolling pretty well with it, as well as having the balls to try some crazy moves. choof, dead people don't talk until the mod says that the game is over. Please set a good example next time.
Good game, everyone, especially benguin and Zenith! That knife-in-the-box could have tipped this game in either direction. Well played. I'll have more to say soon! |

Re: jTWG LXXII: The AniMatrix6 - Post-game
Ayy to rookie mistakes \o/
Okay so I rolecalled to get an insta out of town to try to kill the third remaining townsfolk but it turned out that I could never win by doing that. I read a TWG thread that had 2 remaining town left and one wolf alive and that wolf won so I tried to play the high-risk high-reward card by doing the same but got burned and lost it for us. I'm really sorry Ben!

That is exactly why I am so glad Ben wanted you dead N1. If you were alive, I would've been such an easy target for you.

I hope this thread isn't filled with bashing against me because that's just lame.

Re: jTWG LXXII: The AniMatrix6 - Post-game
Yeah, no bashing guys!
I think Zenith did pretty well, to be honest. If he was really faking his "noob" play, then damn, bravo. I really was just taking it as being a new player type of thing, really. |

Re: jTWG LXXII: The AniMatrix6 - Post-game
I didn't think Zenith was obvious; I did think Ben was a bit awkward. I do think this was a weird game with some things to learn from. AKA learn when/why to fakeclaim roles.
Vanilla Town's basically never should and in a game with roleflips the wolves usually don't fakeclaim investigative roles like tracker or cop.

Re: jTWG LXXII: The AniMatrix6 - Post-game
props to you for fakeclaiming in your first game; its something that rarely happens and takes some balls to do. Obviously, it didn't work out, but its probably the fastest way to improve being a wolf because it forces you to project as if you are thinking from a town mindset moreso than a vanilla town would, if that makes sense. That is, in order to make people believe your claim.

Re: jTWG LXXII: The AniMatrix6 - Post-game
Like I said, Day One was the only time I legit acted like a noob. The other phases were funny as hell seeing town rule me as a town noob until I blew it at the end
Candidates for MVP; I personally think Charu for the snipe on Ben and also DFR for ruining my BS claims before D3.

Re: jTWG LXXII: The AniMatrix6 - Post-game
If people really thought that I would clutch my first game ever and also as a wolf, that right there should've been a hard read against me.
Overall to me, I think I played well enough to learn a lot about the game and its players. I learned so much from you guys and I want to say thank you all for the oopportunity! I will definitely be playing more so I hope I can continue to learn

Re: jTWG LXXII: The AniMatrix6 - Post-game
Yo man, your wolf performance I think was pretty good since you were acting.
That kind of scares me because I don't know what that will bring in future games if you're a wolf since you'll probably need to use something else other than the noob card, heheheh.

Seriously though, when I got the am wrote and it said Mafia I lost it. I was so expecting VT. Something I learned this game was sitting back doesn't help you especially in the long run. Even if the game didn't end the way they did, I just don't think I had the smarts to win. Seeing danceguy flip VT literally made me feel immediately that I had no chance; especially if V roleclaimed. I took advantage since he wasn't here and guess who but V to be the Cop. It was hysterical how easily you fell for the fake roleclaim though xD

Yeeeeeeeeah, I really should've waited for V to come by, but I was so certain that you were real because of my confirmation bias.
Ya did good son exploiting that, if that's what you intended. |
