Re: How to get better at FFR
Practice makes perfect, I guess. Well, I still suck at FFA. Only I found out that after doing a song over and over again I gain reflexes and can press arrows without thinking But if it's a new and difficult song, I'm pretty much screwed. It's like my brain is too slow to react in "normal mode" when too many arrows come at once, but I sort of memorize it after a few times of playing.
I don't think I'll ever become really good at this.. Your "very easy" is my "difficult" Last edited by chadrew; 05-13-2008 at 03:42 PM.. |

Re: How to get better at FFR
For me, i started out with the easyest songs and FCed them. Then, i skipped the middle difficultys and went to very challenging and practiced those for weeks. Eventually you will get used to the speed of it and you will get better over time. Don't expect to get good in the first month. Everyone is different and it might take longer for you to get good at FFR. Have fun playing

If you see a player called Tasslefoot you gouge out your soul with a spoon and sell it to him.

Re: How to get better at FFR
well for the hopeless ones out there you can't focus too much on the arrows you focus on mostly the eat rock back and forth if you have to, stamp your foot. but whatever you do don't blink your eyes to the beat!!!. lol basically timing doesn't fully rely on when the arorws get to the ones at the top...its beat. so yeah just practice and have fun lol

Re: How to get better at FFR
I use the Z X N M keys. and for me it works wonders.
and also for the kids who've just started out, try and try, if you fail, try again untill you at least Fc' it.

Re: How to get better at FFR
if you actually lag on this game you really need to get updates for the computer (better internet is the most common problem) but if its the computer itself I would really like to know how old that thing is( at the moment i am using a Pentium 2 and it works just fine ^_^)

Re: How to get better at FFR
In all seriousness, and if you actually care that much, buy a decent keyboard, if you don't already have one.
I'm currently using a Saitek Eclipse, and I find it's the best keyboard I've played on. I guess if you don't play on the arrow keys then it won't make much of a difference, but I play 2 handed 3 fingered, so it does to me. ;O;' Other than that, try different styles. Don't tell yourself that just because spread has most of the decent players using it, it's necessarily the best for you. Find something comfortable. I don't really take any of the Tier points, or AAA count, or even FC count that seriously, but I'm not bad, so you CAN acknowledge me. xD |

Re: How to get better at FFR
The way that I use seems to work REALLY well with some of my friends, as I have showed them this game and already--some of them can pass FMOs without excessively high (100+) boo counts!
But the way I see it is: play a song that you find to be challenging for you, and master it. When that becomes too easy--go to a harder song and master it. ETC. Just keep going along this process and you'll get better really fast. Once you're able to comfortably pass all of the songs, go back to the easier songs and get better accuracy. Work your way up that way as you did with the song passing. This should be a pretty fast and effective way to learn--as it is how I did. |

Re: How to get better at FFR
well what worked for me is finding a song that you really enjoy...BUT! that you have a hard time passing or getting a decent combo on and keep doing it until you keep beating your record and get a delicious combo ^_^ it worked rather well for me. I did flight of night for a while now and i have seen very nice improvements ...i can do most very challenging songs ans barely pass some masters and guru's lol
