Hello All
My friend plays this game a lot (Infernalgate_Zach) so I thought I would give it a try. The only thing I am having issues with is the key settings. I think its because I normally play StepMania so I am used to being able to set 2 keys to the same arrow (like w and i for up and s and k for down etc). My friend told me to use sdkl (s left, d down, k up, and l right). It works well but I am curious if there is a better way to play this game. What keys do you guys use? Also, I am always looking for new friends to talk with .
Thanks for reading. ~iNsaNeMaN xD |

Re: Hello All
I also use the key set up as S, D, K, L, works really well for me to be honest try different keyset up and mix it up until you find a nice one and also practice makes perfect too haha

Re: Hello All
I am using a, s, ; and ' personally. There are ways you can do what you are describing, but it is generally frowned upon because it can be used to cheat some patterns. The setup you are using now (dubbed "split" or "spread") is going to take some getting use to because certain patterns are harder to execute than others, so just give it some time. Also, are you using just your index fingers or four fingers for StepMania?

Re: Hello All
I use t h k o as my traditional setup but I've been using e f j i lately. I've heard some people say it's a really good speed setup, but I guess I just don't get why it's a setup that makes you a little bit faster.

Re: Hello All
I use QWOP but I switched to ERUI because the keys on my kb died lol
There's no best way to play FFR honestly. It's finding what works best for you, and then improving your abilities. |

gold stinger, it's because your wrists are at a more natural angle than with, say, ASKL.
Welcome to the site, InsaneMan. This game only lets you have one key to each arrow, but through the Options menu you can pick what those keys are. First, you should look at how you normally play: One hand vs. two, and which fingers you use. Once you have that down, you should come up with a layout that works for you and your keyboard. Why do I mention one's keyboard? There's a hardware issue with many keyboards called "ghosting" where if you press certain combinations at the same time, one or more key presses won't be registered. This generally happens when they're close together, like with the arrow keys. |
