Yeah, I leaned in, optical illusions etc. My main problem is my peak isnt very high, my arms are just thick.

Hooray for 40 minute cardio sessions every day. Need to be shredded so I can stop this bull chit.

Cutting gets absolutely horrible once you hit 10% though.

Yeah it was worth it, since I still look pretty shredded despite being on a bulk for 2.5 months, but man, it gets frustrating at that point. Losses come to a screeching halt and you stall a lot and feel like you're starving all the time if you cut your calories any more.

Not that I know of. I could check out the recreational center on campus, but I'm trying to stay out of there due to money issues. Gas really takes a chunk out of my pay.

There are my guns. Lighting pretty shit on a tuesday night when I haven't pumped for days, but you know the drill.

15.5s, or 15.75, something like that. Probably closer to the first tonight, probably the latter after a workout.

not in the slightest

everyone around me is ripped and putting up shitloads of weight -- it's like there are no other beginners there

not a huge deal, but it makes me self conscious to squat nothing while someone's waiting for me. i imagine it's similar to the feeling when I am waiting for a DDR machine while some dude is playing three Beginner levels in a row.

just realized that i never told everyone the results of my MRI

my lateral meniscus is torn, and on the scar tissue, a cyst a formed. so the day before thanksgiving i'm going in for surgery, just arthroscopic nothing major, and i won't be able to do anything till i go back to school the tuesday after. then there is 2-3 weeks of recovery after that. i'm kind scared, but my doctor is the best around my area and worked on my mother. who is doing very well. i just know more rides on this than on my mothers. my knee needs to get better. i need to start getting back in volleyball shape. i'm so stressful

Just make sure you get in and do all the rehab. Keep a positive mindset, that'll help!

I know how you feel. Try not to worry about it.

When I see overweight or weak people doing solid routines, respect. They're on the road to personal improvement.

The only people I mentally judge are the people that are in there ****ing around and displaying poor gym etiquette.

And if I see someone curling in the only squat rack when there are open curl racks right behind them: http://sphotos-c.ak.fbcdn.net/hphoto...42745636_n.jpg

Fitness gurus, I require advice.

I have been looking for ways to strengthen my lower back. Deadlifting is out of the question, since my back is already messed up from a slipped and bulging disc. Therefore, I am looking for some less aggressive back strengthening exercises. I already know plenty of yoga type poses that work the erectors but I am trying to find something that allows for adding weight.

For awhile I was using this while holding weights:

However, I'm pretty sure this is making my back worse. Ever since I've started doing it my back has started aching worse than usual and I suspect it is because of this machine.

I guess my question is, is this a machine that is easy to use improperly? Whenever I use it I try to keep my back is straight as possible but I have a feeling I'm still screwing something up. Any other suggestions for lower back other than deadlifts?

When you do those, you gotta make sure you only go until you're straight or at a slight arch. A lot of people go WAY THE **** BACK,a nd that's why your back hurts.

Reverse Hyper Machines are amazing for fixing back issues. If you do deads properly, they'll help fix your back as well.

When you say straight, you mean so that your body goes no farther than making a straight line on the way back up?

Also, you want to try and keep your back as straight as possible as well right? That's what I've been trying to do since I notice it is tempting to arch your back as you lean over on the way down.
