Re: Hurricane Irene
Wow wtf I just lost power already the storm is so far away this third-world power grid shtick is awesome
Great big boom came with the power loss, it was prob a tree since I didn't see any lightning. Now I get to be hot and bored for the next 36 hours.

Re: Hurricane Irene
Nothing happened to my family really, just light outage. Wasn't really worried in the first place... they don't live near any tall trees or anything. Which was the cause of like 2 deaths down in VA. Maybe 3.

The lower section of the apartment building where I live, though, is submerged in water. And they had to cut power to the surrounding area out in west Hoboken due to multiple fallen power lines in the water. |

Re: Hurricane Irene
Out of this whole thing I only got a couple fallen branches out front of my house and a power outage that lasted like half a second last night then never got another outage. So nothing much happened for me. Its just windy atm, hasnt rained for awhile now.

Re: Hurricane Irene
Just drove around my town, the river flooded pretty bad, the road down there, and the park, are completely covered in water, I'll try to get some pictures.
Saw an SUV parked in like 3-4 feet of water. |

Re: Hurricane Irene
yea there's a lot of flooding all over Jersey. Upside though, the hurricane picked up speed and lost strength so it didn't get to linger as long as was predicted. Which I'm thankful for cause the docks are all underwater. Too much more and the lake probably would have spilled over. Our basement has some water in it and behind the house is like a lake out there, some minor limb stuff right by my house. I haven't ventured out and about so I'm not sure how the rest of the town looks.

Re: Hurricane Irene
I sat out on the porch as Irene made landfall and listened to the wind whipping around. I went inside once the rain started coming in horizontal haha.

Re: Hurricane Irene
I wish we had power outages and stuff like this in cali, we don't get shit, it seems like it would be kind of fun to deal with that stuff. All of you guys stay safe though

In other news, Boston streets (Chelsea, Everett etc...) were covered in branches. Entire commuter system was offline today (which sucks). |

Re: Hurricane Irene
According to a weatherman I heard on the radio, hurricanes like this usually come in 2's and there will be another one in 2 weeks.
