Actually, one of the hardest to get stars in the game is in world 3, so tbh you'll probably be backtracking for that one. VisD, I will definitely check that out. I'm stuck on W5, Small space big solution or whatever it's called. Holy smokes this level. I've been really impressed with W5 in this expansion. So many novel ideas in such tiny and basic puzzles. Just...wow. Have the rest of the sigils, so back to crater et al. after this one.

Re: The Talos Principle
Yes, I'm stuck on the same one you are. I've made it to the third connector, but can't quite figure the final part. And fully agreed on the grey world levels - really awesome stuff across the board. Ray Mania, Transfer and Double Trouble in particular were fantastic, but they were all great. A pity most people will never see them - I feel like some of these tricks should have been spent on floor 5/the final puzzles at the top of the tower.

Re: The Talos Principle
Yeah that's exactly where I was stuck. Good to know it wasn't just me.
That puzzle is a monster. Definitely the hardest main puzzle in the game. For how little space it takes up, holy shit it's a mind bender. I concluded it wasn't possible to get past the second gate so I wasted eons trying get lasers into the complex from other levels. Finally I was like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ixvpLCdqkA&t=12s and once I saw it my mind was blown. How they managed to find novel ways of using something so simple after over 100 puzzles worth of content is just astounding.

Rubix- I really hated that puzzle, lol. It was actually pretty awful from a puzzle design viewpoint - then again not everyone's been spoilt on IH and zest, so...

Re: The Talos Principle
Decided to explore a bit and visit the surface (where you can see the huge tower).
Veering off-boundary is strangely hypnotic, soothing, and creepy at the same time: I agree. It's a little out of place, all else considered. It would have taken a lot longer without IH/Zest/Notpr0n-style solving. Last edited by Reincarnate; 07-30-2015 at 01:34 AM.. |

Re: The Talos Principle
I hate notpron, so if it's anything similar in design it is no wonder I haven't found that star yet. Not my style of puzzle.

Re: The Talos Principle
similar in spirit but not in design
small space big solution was really cool, although the second half was considerably easier than I was making it out to be, thinking a bit too complicated. Still, I wanted to see that trick used and now it is. 10/10 would get stumped again

Re: The Talos Principle
Nerve-Wrecker: Aaaaaaaggghhhhhh. What a pain that was.
These Gray levels are tricky. Basically lots of fidgety timing puzzles with jammers, forcefields, and those floating sentry bomb things. Dumb Dumb Mine: What the fsnfdsnfs. Edit: Got it, finally Last edited by Reincarnate; 07-30-2015 at 07:19 PM.. |

Re: The Talos Principle
lol I don't know how far you are in that puzzle but if you want a hint to start things off that doesn't spoil much:
That one is definitely one of the harder puzzles in the main game. The gray levels in general are supposed to be either unusual, tricky or obscenely hard.

Re: The Talos Principle
One of many eastereggs, Reincarnate. Keep your eyes peeled. There are tons of them, including at least a dozen secret areas.
I found a hilarious one today Found it accidentally when trying to get the star. Wow. A must see for anyone that has beaten the game but never seen it. Tackling the sigils in star world C, since I never did them on my last play through. Nexus was simple but ...cobweb I think takes the cake for most annoying puzzle ever. Definitely going to come back to this one later lmao

Re: The Talos Principle
Having a hell of a time finding the second star in B-4, lmfao.
Thoughts so far: Edit: lmao, got it finally. This one is almost as unfair as A-3... almost. Last edited by Reincarnate; 07-31-2015 at 07:59 PM.. |

Re: The Talos Principle
Absolutely an unfair one. It was one of the 3 that I was missing. I was pretty disappointed with the solution.
