Help me build a computer

Looking to build a windows primarily for gaming. Tl;dr I got a gig where I will be needing to capture and edit a bunch of games for a client so I need to build a computer for it, where it can handle max graphics + recording.

Under 1,000 preferred. Willing to spend 1,200 max most likely.

What would you recommend? Ty.

And when you say "max graphics" I'm assuming you aren't talking 1440+ and only max for 1080?

i5-4690k cpu
Z97 LGA 1150 motherboard
8GB 1600 mhz ram
Rosewill 500-600watt psu depending on if you plan to use two gfx cards in the future


You probably could find someone elses older $1500 gaming PC for $1000 though.

izzy's build is a good start but depending on what you need, you're looking at an extra $250 minimum on top of that

edit: tryin to find a compatible case atm. note that the price doesnt include an OS or peripherals. im assuming u already have peripherals u like?

lol i included it in my build for him just in case he would want. he can always buy or not buy depending on what he think he needs. i just put it out there as a suggested build.

Well people still sell soundtracks in form of CD's still.

It's... not much of a thing, but it's a thing.

Besides, the only reason to get an optical drive is if, for whatever reason, you want physical copies of some games and other media. Though if you're smart with Internets, which I'm assuming most are (but then my library job says otherwise), you can get away with having none whatsoever.

I'd also recommend getting an SSD for your boot drive. Maybe an after market cpu cooler. The stock intel cooler is pretty shitty.

this ^^^

get like, an 80 gb ssd and just put the OS onto it. makes ur pc boot way faster, and u can find one for relatively cheap. after market cpu cooler you'd only need if you're overclocking your cpu, but if not, theres no point in spending the extra $30. if you are into that tho, get a coolermaster hyper 212 evo. that's the best you'll find for the price.
