Re: FFR Runners
Bump + huge update!
I've been improving in cross country a lot this year. My first year/last year, I went from a 21:40 to a 20:31, which isn't that crazy, but I got bad shin splints so I was at physical therapy a lot. This year, I took XC way more serious than last year and I'm in the 18's now! My first meet this year, I ran a 20:31, the meet after was a 19:31, and then I tried spikes for the first time at an invitational and ran an 18:26! I also ran a 18:48 at Hershey yesterday which is potentially one of the hardest courses in PA so I was really proud of that. We got 3rd as a whole at that invitational and I got and I got 82nd out of 250th as an individual. Our team is undefeated so far and we only have three meets left, and we're really confident we can beat all of these teams and get the first ever undefeated season for our school in XC. We made states last year for the first time in 50 years I think and we have a shot at doing it again as well. I plan on getting sub 18 at Leagues considering their course is very fast but I'll still try to get it beforehand. This is definitely my best year yet and I plan on having an even better one next year. I'm definitely pumped for track this year as well! Here are the results for the Hershey invitational. http://www.runhigh.com/2014RESULTS/R092014AF.html

Re: FFR Runners
Our team ran at our District meet today. Back to back district champs so we're heading to states again this year!
I think I ran a 18:26 and placed around the high 20's. It was freezing out as well so I'm pretty satisfied with that.

Re: FFR Runners
18:48 is really good. If you break the 17's, you're godly in high school.

Re: FFR Runners
I've done 2 marathons now.
First one was the Virgin London Marathon, which i trained for but i sadly injured myself 2 months prior to the start date. I ran it with a knee support, and i finished in 4h 59m 12. My goal was sub 5 hours so i cut it pretty fine! Second one was the Brighton Marathon, i trained poorly and i didn't know this but i gave myself a stress fracture on 27th March (thought it was just a bad ache), and the race date was 6th April. I didn't do any more training runs to let it heal. 5 miles in and i was in a bit of pain, 10 miles in i was in unbearable pain so i walked the rest (more of a hobble) as it was for a charity and i wanted to finish. Took me almost 7 hours! I will do another marathon in the future but i'd like to break 4 hours. I've learnt a lot about the body during these two marathons, and i've had so many physio sessions which have taught me more. Third time lucky! With regards to 5k i see a lot of people talking about my best isn't very fast: 24.11, and my best 10k is 51 minutes.
