Re: Another awesome fantasy MMO is launched
I'm gonna /thread this thing and get everything back on topic; this whole argument over complete nonsense has gone long enough. Saguchi, there's nothing wrong with you caring for nature. But you can't win against the rights of freedom of speech, free will, and the human's ability to pertain thought and reason to perform many various tasks that a four-legged animal cannot perform. Simply put, the complete answer to this whole argument is; Saguchi, GO WATCH ANIMAL PLANET. Seriously; you'll learn alot more about animals and everything else, along with seeing the large group of people who are either veterinarians, are part of the SPCA (an animal rights group out to prevent acts of animal cruelty from abusive owners), or have that general love of animals that pretty much the entire human population has. Can thread has back on topic now, plz?
Earth Eternal does look like a game for furries, but I guess it's something to try out, although it looks nothing more than yet another MMORPG. Oh, and did you know this game has been in development since 2007? One of the earliest G4TV MMO Reports have some info about the early development of Earth Eternal; if anyone's interested, PM me and I'll go dig through the blog posts and grab the episode. Once again, I guess I'll go try it out and see what it's like. As soon as it actually opens, anyway. |

Re: Another awesome fantasy MMO is launched
Why not just play WoW?
You could just play a tauren or a draenei and get the same effect, but with a real game. Hell there are even animal rights activists in wow you could have a circlejerk with. And just like in real life, these animal rights activists care more about animals than humans, asking you to kill several humans along the way! Last edited by Squeek; 03-16-2009 at 07:31 PM.. |

Re: Another awesome fantasy MMO is launched
Eh, every MMO is different. Plus, I'd rather not play WoW; not that it probably isn't fun, though. More or less just don't care about it, especially since I have a distaste for it (my sister playing the European WoW for free contributes to the distaste).

I am not retarded, okay. Oh, and one more thing. Even if we do plant twice as many trees as we cut down, which we don't, let me remind you, that TREES TAKE YEARS TO GROW, NOT DAYS!!!

Yeah!!!111
Why, at this rate, the forests will look like an old woman just starting out on chemo! There's no way we, as a race, take into account how much lumbar we harvest. After all, Sags, buddy, what you're telling me can't be true. Trees take years go grow? I'll fax my nearest lumbar yard and tell them to stop immediately, because surely they did not know this groundbreaking concept. I smell a noble prize for you, good sir.

We don't cut down every single tree in the world in a matter of days. I highly doubt we can cut down all the trees in the world in one generation of trees. Well we could, probably, but we don't. And even if we did, in one generation all the old trees will be cut down and we'll have twice as many trees at the same age as the ones we started cutting down before, assuming we planted them all at the same time. You need to calm down, bud, because when you type stupid things in all caps, you're accentuating the wrong thing. Your only hope now is to say "Got you guys, I was trolling!" Maybe then you can walk away with some dignity. But not much 'cuz I hate trolls.

I was trying to explain to you before that you're taking too many things the environmentalists say at face value. I even said that if you literally just poke these concepts with the tiniest of motions, it will fall apart. Environmentalists don't have a goddamn clue about anything. The sole purpose of an environmentalist is to make themselves feel better by making others feel worse. You, being an animal lover, felt terrible when you heard an environmentalist say that humans are killing animals all the time. Hearing that, you steeled yourself to defend animals from that point on. I'm only conjecturing here, but I'm pretty spot-on, right? Now, your blind devotion comes with a price. You repeat their mantras over and over again, failing to do any kind of research that goes along with it. Before bothering to ignore what any of us have to say again, here are some questions. What is the evidence that these claims are true? Is the purpose of the argument political or environmental? Is the purpose of the argument to insult Americans for living the way they do? Keep in mind that "saving the world" is not the same as "making America pay for the way it handles industry". If you ban anything worldwide, you will be killing thousands, possibly millions of people who depend on it to survive. How certain are you that these proposed changes will "fix" the "broken" world? What research has been done that proves the problems are true and that the solutions will solve them? Now that I got that out of the way, I can join in the mockery for berating the logging industry without even knowing how it works. Think about it. Let's say you worked for a company whose profits come from selling lumber. Choose your business model: 1) Cut all the available lumber down all at once and sell it. You make heavy profits all at once, then you have no more source of income. 2) Cut down sections of a forest at a time, replanting trees as you go along. You make steady profits, and your profits increase as your newly-planted trees grow and you gain more lumber to cut down while remaining at the same or greater baseline for the number of trees remaining. This is a toughey. As much as you hate Americans, if there's one thing we know, it's how to milk profits over a long period of time. In fact, despite all of the logging in our country, there are more trees in our country today than there were hundreds of years ago. Let that one mull over for a while. |

i can simulate a human being doing almost anything thanks to video games, but where is a video game starring cats that truly captures the excitement of sleeping for sixteen hours a day? i was also disappointed when i played star fox 64 and was forbidden completely from hunting/consuming prey, taking shelter from storms, and mating in fact, every time i play an animal in a video game, i can't do anything besides what i do in human video games, and i really wish game designers would broaden their horizons across species a little bit

Obviously we need to start thinking like animals and start peeing on everything we own. Like right now, I'm showing ownership of my bed and it feels nice.

funny how in 4 years time, there's enough simulators around to be whatever the hell you want to be, completely destroying any possible rebuttal against the argument in here.
also what happened to this MMO. Is it dead, or somehow still clinging to life? |
