Friday - 4am at the airport. connecting flight from miami to philly and from there to montreal. was fairly smooth but customs were a bit tricky since their dialect was kind of hard for me to understand and I apparently misunderstood a question which had the guy have a very deadpan expression and ask me how I plan to stay in quebec on sunday and leave that same day (or maybe he misunderstood me, idk...).
wasn't long until amy, mathieu and haku would arrive and I had been requested to take a video of my real time reaction of experiencing that temperature. it wasn't too bad but my hands were exposed and it took no more than 3 minutes to see my fingers turn bright red and suddenly lose feeling of my hands followed by a sharp pain all while trying to message sven and amy in anguish. mathieu went out of the car and called via fb messenger (when i had 1% battery!) and luckily we found each other then proceeded to join the others in haku's car for a 3 hour road trip. scenery was amazing, especially with how quick the sky gets dark ... like at around 4:30 pm, very grey and depressing but I found beauty in that view too. we had mcdonalds that afternoon and then headed to sven's place in which he was complaining about not having a shower curtain (spoiler alert, it melted in the washing machine).
skipping ahead, we went to ashton's for real poutine and i was requested by kommisar to try the off-menu sauce. it was at this point where i really felt the need of assistance to have things ordered in french for me, and sven had mentioned many times before about the language police being a real thing. keith had also joined us for the meetup and it was a pleasure to have one more FFR user on the list of those i've met in person! my reaction of the poutine with the sauce is also recorded. p.s. we had this meal at 1am but it was just too good for me not to care. oh yea and the burger was very delicious, just unfortunate that my stomach is tiny.
saturday - oh boy, what a day to remember. at this point we had many many memes to recall. smash ultimate button spamming. ridiculous gamecube keyboard controller. two very nsfw games of the drawing game (sorry i forgot what it's called!). blueguerilla AAAAA. stepmania/ffr turns with me, mathieu and haku while also playtesting felix's awesome piano pack. probably the coldest night of the weekend and sven let me borrow his oversized coat in public (oversized for my standards). toro balls. silence theory in rhythm gaming. 0 grams. xavier renegade angel, nuff said. the incredible BULK, aka thanos' day off. vr chat waifu dating simulator featuring me actually walking around the room and attempting to eat virtual food (lolololololol). sven's cat wondering what tf is going on. dropping a random "J'm'en calice" to gauge a reaction from everyone that heard it. "god I wish that were me". fox hat sitting on top the fridge behind world famous vegan and prime minister of canada, justin trudeau. and more.
sunday - sad christmas day after all the fun has happened, but we continued to share some laughs and recover the next morning while reminiscing of the fun times of the past two days. I requested for one big group photo of us remaining, then surprise surprise I get blasted by snow as requested by my dear bro-for-life Isaac. I couldn't feel my face for a good minute, but now I can say I've had snow thrown at me and I don't regret that! it was a quick and smooth ride home. customs was done in Montreal airport before I went to Miami, and I thankfully slept through 80% of the plane ride home. sven also lovingly (and by that I mean forcefully) stuffed packs of Pabts Blue Ribbon mac and cheese in my backpack. they were delicious and I appreciate this kind gesture as well as the very generous offer to have me invited to your home along with our mutual buddies.
despite how Rekt it Ralph we got, we all got along well and there were no complaints on my end! moments like these are what make me eternally grateful for the friends I've made on this site and I definitely look forward to more meetups in the future!
a... SFW/FFR friendly version of a video compilation should be done some time this weekend. but I promise it'll be worth once I gather everyone's vids and pics!
