Default Re: Naruto's Ninja Way Voting

We'll agree to disagree on the underwhelming/subdued point, and I'll say that I'm not the most fond of hearing it being "to a fault." But to be honest, that's just a choice of opinion. I could say the same thing about your chart being a bit too overaggressive to a fault -- though, I'd likely be lying if I didn't at least say that I'd have chosen a more aggressive/similar approach if I was making this chart without intent for competition for something like StepMania/osu!mania, which are both a bit more suitable for charts with that kind of aggression.

My chart went through a lot of revision and was a fair bit harder at first, though a lot of the difficulty initially came from bursts. Unsurprisingly, I wasn't fond of them and went through resolving them a few times. Being accessible was important to me at least for this chart, but striking the balance between having accessibility and still being notable is tough with a community that's generally fixated on higher level charts (as the overall curve of players on FFR that is active substantially leads towards higher level players).

If anything, I wish I'd have found a better way to tame the color bursts in the drops to not create some one-handed cameljacks at points. Having single taps simply didn't feel right, though. I tailored the burst patterning/speeds to at least be approachable to mid-level players while creating a fairly technical structure that's difficult to master due to some required control at points.

The hope was to create a file that was easy to score on but hard to master cleanly.

Thanks to everyone who voted for my chart, I really appreciate it. <3
