The Tournament of Eternity! (June)
Welcome!
My name is Travis, and I will be your host!
For this tournament, I want to pay tribute to one of the funnest tournaments I have ever participated in, the Dragon's Fury Custom Tournaments! This means that the layout of the this tournament will be similar to the DFCT's and the songs will be from the DF engine! (See "Layout" for more details).
The tournament has concluded!

ALL SCREENSHOTS MUST INCLUDE THE PLAYERS USERNAME AND TIMESTAMP!! NO EXCEPTIONS!
Any scores that do not follow this guideline will NOT be accepted.
Heres an example of a proper screenshot:
(For information on how ratings will be processed for cumulative "non-paired" groups, see the bottom of this spoiler tag.)
The rating system that I am using is a simplified version of the "ELO" rating system used in official chess tournaments. Players that join who have no rating yet will placed in the division closest to their skill level and given an initial rating that is midway between the divisions maximum and minimum rating (Guru's get 2100 initial, and novices get 900).
If, at the end of the tournament, a players rating has crossed the maximum/minimum rating for that division, then they will be bumped up/down to the next highest/lowest division for the next tournament. No division change based on rating increase/decrease will be made while the tournament is in progress.
The change in a players rating after a match is calculated with the following formula:
R' = R + 30(S - E)
Where R' is their new adjusted rating, S is their score (1 for winner, 0 for loser), and E is their "expected" score.
The expected score for players A (Ea) and B (Eb) is calculated by:
Ea = Qa/(Qa+Qb)
Eb = Qb/(Qa+Qb)
where
Qa = 10^(Ra/400)
Qb = 10^(Rb/400)
and Ra is player A's rating, and Rb is player B's rating.
A players rating will carry through each of my tournaments
<> This system only works for players that are paired against each other. In order to make this work for a group in a division, ratings will be calculated as in the following example (hard to explain in words):
Suppose we have 5 players in a division, with their scores for a finished round.
Player--Score
P1--35,000
P2--35,000
P3--34,950
P4--34,920
P5--34,885
Player 1's (P1) new rating will be calculated (in this order): A tie against P2, a win against P3, a win against P4, and a win against P5.
Applying this to P2 would give: Tie against P1, Win against P3/P4/P5
And to P3: Loss to P1/P2, and win to P4/P5.
Basically, the group is broken down into pairs. This is the only method i could think of, so if anyone has a better idea feel free to let me know!
