Default FFR Tournament: Round 8, Expert Finals

Again, things will be ordered a little differently this time--to start off, the results from the Beginner and Advanced divisions:

Beginner

The division might be called "Beginner", but the division winner is certainly no newbie. The Beginner division champion, HansSky, indirectly or directly defeated all 127 other division competitors, proving his skill at many different aspects of the game: offbeat songs (Terror From Beyond), minijacks (100 Bar Blackout and X-Dreamer Final Cut), jumps (Halogen), and chaos (Thinking Different).

His scores on the songs were:

AAA on Euphoria
4 on Terror From Beyond
AAA;15-1-0-1 on La Luna Caida;Final Fantasy 7 Battle
6-0-0-1 on 100 Bar Blackout
1 on Halogen
2 on X-Dreamer Final Cut
6 on Thinking Different

Congratulations to HansSky for winning the Beginner division title, and the $70 prize that comes with it.

Advanced

A tough crowd of 48 started out in Advanced, some of whom seemed to many like they could or should be in Expert. Many looked at the higher seeds as favorites to win from the start, especially the #1 seed Darkshark. No one would have expected then that an unseeded player would rise to win the division--but that's exactly what happened. Akorn, the aforementioned unseeded player, battled through all 7 rounds and came out on top in the end as champion of Advanced.

His scores on the songs were:

AAA on FFR Evolution
AAA on Domani
AAA;2 on Go Go Go Power Rangers;Splash Beats
1 on Playdoh
2-0-0-2 on Wish
9-1-0-2 on Klung Kung

Congratulations to Akorn for winning the Advanced division title and a prize of $80.

Expert

The tournament isn't over yet--there's one more round to be played, and it's the finals of the Expert division. The finalists are the amazing Bahamut-X, the downscroll-playing machine who has conquered countless high score lists, and the legendary Reach, a player who made his name as a top FFR player years ago and still hasn't lost it. For the last round of the highest division, these two will play Revolutionary Etude, one of the hardest songs in the game. The winner gets the title of Expert division champion, as well as a $100 grand prize.

(1) Bahamut-X (No score)
vs
Reach (No score)

You have until Wednesday, November 15, at 11:00 PM EST. Good luck, guys.

One more thing: we'll worry about getting Hans and Akorn their prizes after the tournament officially ends.
