seer cover was a thing that happened! it had interesting results this game, too. town didn't have the greatest coverage of claims, because both juckter and MML checked a wolf haku, and not everyone laid cover. that pretty much let haku PoE seer down to sunfan vs. kayla vs. aryxi.

the thing is, though, due to the particular claims that were made, sunfan was able to tell that they'd give a wolf haku the most information. as he said, otherwise kayla would be really hard to pick out, in particular because she looked to have dropped cover by giving a serious read on juckter. not sure that haku read that post in the same way, though he did find aryxi's drop and switched his kill rather late on night 1.

this makes me wonder aloud about dropping cover in general, because in the cover strategy, everyone has the same soft claim. the feeling i get from this is rather than stay consistent with it, it's actually okay to "drop" it, because we know regardless that 8/9 of the claims are fake. so three people dropping their cover in this game didn't really surprise me that much, and given that the actual seer could be seen as having done that, i don't think doing so is necessarily town-clearing anymore. that said, this isn't necessarily a good idea to extend beyond this setup.

MVP sunfan for pushing on and pretty much solving the game even if he didn't think it was a good job on his part, honorable mention to Pazzaz for being awake, committing votes to both wolves and putting them in tight spots

Funnygurl: you played well and got townread, town unfortunately didn't bother looking at you this game but hey, you won.

Hakulyte: words fail me... There were multiple problems here, but the biggest one is that YOU VOTED OUTSIDE OF THE SEER CLAIMS. The second thing is your scumread of Xel was largely based on him supposedly doing some night action, which you were completely wrong on. Third, you didn't even bother to go back and reread before voting. And fourth, it would be nice if you stopped using the excuse that you're bad for bad play, and instead tried to improve, because it's really annoying to see someone apparently not care when they're doing things without thinking and then justifying it with their badness.

ShadoWolfe: worst mislynch ever, you did a great job trying to cover for Xel after I thought he outed himself hard, town needs to understand mechanics, the person who got checked by the person who died is pseudo-clear and absolutely not a lynch candidate for second day in most cases.

danceflashrevo: strong game, you got blueread by funny and projected town pretty well

R.E. Aryxi: try not to freak out when you get scumread/pushed, it does no help to town and helps scum mislynch without accountability

I didn't leave much in the way of comments in the original postgame but it was pretty well played from both sides, especially the late game, and props to ShadoWolfe for continuing to fight as long as he did even when it seemed like he couldn't shake the suspicion on him.

I think I retroactively awarded AA MVP for this game in another thread. Shado left him and Charu alive in final 3 which pretty much spelled his doom, since they had their minds made up.

in some respects both sides could have played better. townies seemed to get bogged down in mechanics, and while that's okay and especially important for this setup, the only people arguing for the "right" or more "correct" side happened to be exactly the seer and a wolf, who in a way both need to vie for their vanilla friends' votes anyway. it proved hard for town to work together, and some inactivity didn't help things

meno probably wasn't the best night 2 kill to make, and the main reason i can see for why it happened is charu thought he was softing a red check? but there's not much reason to soft with only one wolf left. charu's posts about leaving notes in wolf chat were funny to me though knowing he was the wolf. there was also something about sunfan not being the beeeeeest n1 kill but i don't remember it anymore

there's not a no-lynch, nor a no-kill option in the setup, so seeing discussion of both of those was cringey

almost needing 3 subs for a turbo is also worrisome but life does happen sometimes

i'm really tired zzz

celirra considered wv as probably the seer, but the tell for me (having all the info) was wv played super differently to fire emblem 2 and i thought that would give him away

also i was thinking of letting wolves talk during the day since apparently this setup skews townsided overall, but not sure about that

I think roundbox gets MVP for this one. Tracks were good choices and you tried outing your wolf in a way that didn't involve you claiming, but claiming didn't turn out too bad anyway.

Hard setup for wolves to win since they don't know if there's a doctor in the game as was mentioned, so CK ~always dies night 2 as their biggest second blue read.

Also this seems like it could benefit from wolf daychat. Dunno.

A very strange game.

Town has a very strong d1 and almost puts a kebab in Tokzic. But a last minute attack by Sunfan targeting Charu convinces DaBackpack to move from Tokzic to Charu. A somewhat tough break for poor Charu, as he gets dropped in a box with Tokzic and dies for it.

During the night, Sunfan executes the kill which suprised me because i thought he would want to lay low until his power activated. He had his reasons im sure but it ends up costing him his life in a strange twist. Haku mistakes his watching power for tracking, and chooses to watch Shado (when he actually wanted to track him, which is impossible). I wake up the next day groggy and sleep deprived and give him the tracking results for shado instead of the watch results by mistake. This doesnt end up mattering (as Shado was VT) but you can pinpoint the moment i fix my mistake because thats when Haku goes hard against Sunfan in the thread. Sunfan really doesnt have much options at this point and goes for the fakeclaim, but (understandably) he wasn't prepared for it and gets outed when he misquotes the target list from the previous day.

Night 2 WV cant exactly do much to help haku out due to his guarding last night so he goes for the next best thing and guards Xelnya. Xelnya is on the fence about shooting but sends his shot too late so i dont accept it. Tokzic goes for the obvious Haku kill. Haku watches Xelnya because he doesnt trust himself to place the time travel vote correctly.

Day 2 was somewhat slow. Sunfan bailing out Tokzic the previous day was a ticking time bomb that was waiting to explode the second someone went back to do wagon analysis, but even without it town was doing a good job building a circle and acting towny. DaBackpack finally finds the critical bit of info and Tokzic sees the writing on the wall. He concedes.

This was a game that highlighted the exceptional strength of a Jailkeeper in the right hands.

D0 very nearly ended with a lynch on Blindreper1179, but last minute indecision/hesitance by town caused a reversal onto Xelicopter, which resulted in a mislynch. During the night, thesunfan expressed a desire to fix his mistakes from D0, which he felt he had performed poorly in. He had correctly understood a softclaim from Charu, realizing that Charu had a good chance of being Backup, and decided to medic-jail Charu. After some contemplation, he reasoned that, if Charu were PR, inDheart was the most likely person to correctly catch the soft, and therefore kill him. This, combined with a belief that wolves normally will choose to send a kill using their deep wolf, caused him to correctly (but at huge risk) jail inDheart. Incidentally, the wolfteam of inDheart/blindreper1179 had also caught Charu softing, and decided to send inDheart for the kill.

The result was a spectacular roleblock-jailing on inDheart, which confirmed sunfan's suspicions that inDheart had likely sent a kill on Charu and set in motion a series of events that won the game for town. It would be amiss to neglect to mention that inDheart, at the start of the phase (before sunfan claimed), correctly identified the town PRs to be exactly thesunfan/Charu . He had also laid down a brilliant soft on D0, that read "I'm jailor" when revealed. Had he decided to CC, game may have gone very differently. As it was, however, the end of the phase had inDheart mechanically lynched, after a day of posting in a townie manner. This, combined with an earlier callout by thesunfan and Charu, left blindreper1179 looking exceptionally suspicious for his attempt to save his partner. The following day ended the game quickly, with Blind's forfeiture.

As a result, I think thesunfan has solidly earned MVP for this game.

Also of note:
Charu, for believing enough in his trust of sunfan to not doubtcast him through D0 and D1, as well as for nearly singlehandedly pushing through the blindreper lynch on D1 (despite never actually voting him.

Arielbananate7, for playing exceptionally well and coming to the correct conclusions, despite this being their first TWG game and despite not knowing any of the players or their respective metas.

inDheart, for correctly reading Charu PR and playing a solidly towny D1, despite mechanically looking suspect AF. He should've CCed, in my opinion, but he made the best of it after failing to do so.

I made a change to the setup during the very long signup period for this game that wound up making it much easier on town.
When you can have "perfect" night actions fairly easily and wolves can't kill you nearly as easily, there's probably something wrong with the setup.

That's not quite how it played out - town got 3 mechanical clears instead of 4 - but random.org didn't help things, electing to lynch Raeko on the first day. Props to wc for trying to play it out against those odds.
