Just to note, this only works for 3.95+, and OpenITG. 3.9 doesn't allow rolls and in fact crashes when playing files containing rolls.
About rock songs, it may be just me, but normally those songs are hard to step in general. I never liked stepping them because it's hard to know which to follow most of the time x.x
