I'd like to add that I see mainly 2 way of fixing this :

1) Have both the song selected on the left and the song information in the right be about the last selected song, pre-search.
2) Same thing, but with the song that was played.

IMO #2 makes more sense as the player might want to play songs with similar difficulty afterward (versus for instance staying in "Easiest" category even for high-ranked players).
