The reason they chose was for the illusion that there was a SK out there... which proved not to be of any use as you witnessed. If tps hadn't named another person to confirm after faking, then it might've been a different story.

Nah because it was still heading towards a 4 person game regardless of who was confirmed town or not, because it would be an unwinnable situation for town if there was an SK/Wolf still alive.
