It doesn't really matter, although it might be redundant to have people always 'move and search' when moving through a new area.

This instance where DarkManticore searched the entire room is only allowed in the apartment. Once you enter a room, you may only inspect one object per turn, move in one direction, and if you would like, try other unrelated actions. There will usually be a foreshadowing to hidden objects and clues when someone gets close, but players will generally have to find the clues themselves. Inspecting one random object at a time, however, is allowed.
