Default Re: Team Blaze (Thread v2)

Tournament Update~
- Round 5, Update #1 -
Many of our archers had hurdled past the halfway point, but the beasts they faced were only getting stronger and stronger...

Quite a while had passed since the archers were first placed into The Dungeon. Most of them had lost track of the amount of time they had spent there struggling, but they were fairly certain this was their fifth week in the ominous battlefield. Certainly, they had had no idea that pressing a shiny little button on their computer would immediately make them test subjects for a study on rhythmic combat. Over the last few weeks, hundreds of archers who had fallen for the button have had to defeat various beasts by shooting colored arrows to their musical cries. In the process, some annihilated the monsters one by one, knocking them down with great precision, while others (the more unfortunate ones), had failed to do so -- even being knocked down themselves into what seemed to be fiery pits that were all around the place. There had been a small notice at the entrance of The Dungeon saying that this was one way of returning home, but it seemed to be a very torturous one. No one wanted the double whammy of being smacked by the monster AND falling into a fiery pit. Not to mention, they were also told that the last “survivors” would be rewarded with great riches.

Unfortunately, as the experiment continued and the archers ventured deeper into The Dungeon, the pits became more and more common. The beasts were also becoming harder to triumph over. But the archers had made it this far, and judging from how much their number has dwindled, they could tell they were close to those riches. None of them wanted to be homebound at this point.

Among them, there were some who identified themselves as part of an alliance called Team Blaze. As The Dungeon had 7 different regions (often abbreviated as D1~D7) that were separated from one another, no one could see all the other members. However, the archers of the alliance were all equipped with state-of-the-art communication technology that allowed them to encourage each other and keep each other up-to-date on their attempts to down any beasts they encountered. 16 of them were still alive in The Dungeon -- coincidentally, there were 16 remaining archers at this point in all but one of the regions. This is an account of the battles they were currently involved in:

D6, encountering what seemed to be menacing vocal androids with sideways 8’s over their heads, was having the most intense battle of them all. RB_Spirit had dealt one of them great damage, using his rapidfire shooting techniques with an accuracy of 5-0-1-1. (This was a shorthand of denoting shot accuracy among rhythmic archers; 5 arrows didn’t quite hit the monster perfectly, but none were way off. One had completely missed the monster, and one had been fired by accident.) Bobby Jeffrey Hill also took an android by surprise with 9-0-0-3, but it didn’t seem too badly damaged as it was trying once more to charge back at the archer. Unfortunately, three of the alliance members were struggling to combat the other androids -- kjwkjw had gotten 7-2-1-4, Elite Ninja a 17-0-1-2, and TK_unreal a 41-7-8-4. It seemed that the last archer was merely warming up with his arrow shots, but the androids were quickly closing in on him.

The lone Team Blaze survivor at this point in D5 was PriestREA. What lay before him were what seemed to be mere spirits of crows -- but it was certainly demanding to defeat. A gripping battle was in progress as the archer struggled not to fall into a fire pit -- he had fired arrows at some of the monsters with an accuracy of 14-4-1-7.

On the other hand, D4 was looking quite promising for the alliance. Though they were battling gigantic, freaky eyeball-like entities that required many an arrow to take down, the archers were quite persistent -- their eyes were set on the prize. Among them, PaperclipGames had gotten the farthest into The Dungeon, destroying an eyeball monster in the way with 9-0-0-0. popsicle_3000 and thesunfan were two allies close to each other, with 13-0-3-2 and 21-0-1-0 accuracy respectively. A couple of the archers had let their opponent have the first blow; ReikonKeiri had 28-3-0-6 and top 43-2-5-5 in battling the eyeball beasts that were near them. But the alliance members' energy was far from drained, and they were nowhere near giving up.

D3 was quite lonesome for Team Blaze... but the one survivor left was an extremely seasoned archer. HalfStep, battling a seven-eyed, dark green ogre with the unfitting name of Beatrice, had shot all but one of his arrows at the monster’s Achilles's Heel -- and even that arrow had struck the ogre’s foot. (That's 1-0-0-0!) The ogre seemed pretty much unable to get up ever again, and the archer was way in front of all of his other contenders, completely ready to K.O. the sixth beast.

And last but not least, D2 was booming with action as well. The folks in the region were facing strange, two-headed snakes. They didn’t look as menacing as the horrendous beasts in the higher regions, but no one could let their guard down. sayuncle90 and Micah_ were doing fairly well in slaying the snakes, pulling off accuracies of 3-0-0-0 and 1-0-1-1 respectively. The snakes, however, were giving Garquillex and Guest15937 a good fight, as they hadn’t topped their shot records of 11-0-0-1 and 9-0-1-5... yet.

People in danger of being eliminated:
kjwkjw, Elite Ninja, TK_unreal, ReikonKeiri, top, Garquillex, Guest15937

Many thanks to Bridget (ohsosilly) for kindly allowing me to do a guest update for this round! ^.^
Go, Team Blaze archers!! >O
