If you're kinda new to SSBM(and by that I mean you've never even heard of the tiers), I suggest you use a faster character to deal with Ganondorf.
Fox and Marth would work pretty well.

Fox doesn't win much MLG.
It's usually Ken(Marth) or DSF(Sheik).
In fact, I rarely ever see Fox win a high-skill tournament unless there are no good Marth or Sheik players. |
