reason why you don't torrent a zip is because it's pointless. a zip's only advantage is on http's so you wouldnt have to download muliple files, click and grab the file. when torrting a folder you can do the same, click and grab, with out having to extract a zip, so that even makes it easier than zips. one less step. ;p

finally, if your gonna goto biso's tracker for the torrent you must register to connect to other peers or else you will be blocked from connecting. for blacklisted ports, read FAQ at the site.
