the problem for me is that it takes a pretty long time to accumulate enough cards to make a meaningful structured deck

I don't have the patience for that. I can only derive so much entertainment out of playing premade decks

I also generally don't spend money on games so that doesn't help

otherwise I think I'd really like this game. I love the mechanics and design
