The main thing here is that people wouldn't like reading big headlines and long texts about bombings in places like Afghanistan and Iraq anymore. It's "interesting" at first, but it doesn't make a lot of sense to fill multiple pages with basically the same news over and over again for years. People would stop reading that. And as a medium, you're simply forced to conform to the news that people are interested in hearing.
It's not so much "fuck the media", it's more "fuck the human priority system" or something.
