I started playing FFR and Stepmania back in 2006 when bemanistyle had their massive database as well as FFR. I was fairly young and clueless back then so I didn't know too much about what was going on and what other people really cared about in the community. I think I stopped when FFR was down for a while.

I just recently hopped back on board and I'm starting to get more assimilated with the culture. For example, I have all of Mad Matt's Tachyon packs and I don't waste any time trying to learn PIU.

I guess my real question is what's going on right now? Is all of this still popular? What packs are the most popular? Where should I go to download simfiles? How receptive is the community to new simfile artists?

Also, what have I missed in the 4 years I haven't been playing?
