The Human Centipede did manage to take the crown from Hostel in terms of bad, gory movies that simply got a lot of viewers due to its content.
Some of the worst movies I've ever seen include Alone in the Dark, I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, Ghost Ship, and The Hitcher (remake).
