As for the clients to use. mIRC either requires pirating it or buying a license. For free alternatives try either:

KVIrc: http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/kvirc_portable
or
PChat: http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/pchat_portable

Otherwise, go to Mibbit.
Make an account or just click on "Launch App" [near the bottom of the main banner]
In the second blue box, click "Server" and type "irc.chatspike.net" without the quotes.
Enter your desired username under "Nick" and "#blaze" without the quotes under "Channel" then click Connect.
