[<] and [>] don't actually describe the quality of the file; just a comparison between which one is better.

You can do this:

song A: [+.] [>]

song B: [?] [<]

or sometimes two files are close, but you want to distinguish slightly:

song A: [+.] [<]

song B: [+.] [>]

Sometimes they're equally good/bad, in which you don't need to use greater/less than symbols.
