I'm a little late on this, but holy shit the barrel. I first got stuck on it when I was in 2nd grade, and even though I came back to Sonic 3 once in a while, I didn't end up figuring it out until I was in 9th or 10th. I was so relieved once I discovered that everyone else had the same problem. I don't think I've ever felt dumber than when I pushed down and saw the infernal thing start to move.

anyway, Sonic 2 is really more my childhood. haha.
