That's what's so goddamn cool about them. The common, accepted usage has absolutely nothing to do with the type of word it is. You can bitch and moan about "abuse" this and "obsessively use" that, but who defines what abuse of a word is? Who's to say what overuse of a word is? It's just language developing. It's what separates english from latin.
