Cool how do i uses different keys?

i always see videos of people playing ffr using different keys besides the arrow keys, and yet whenever i try using different keys nothing happens

dude im so confused, i downloaded the stepmania thing and i followed the instructions best i could but whenever i open the stepmania and go to the edit songs thing, it says "No Songs Installed"
