Re: Favorite battle system in an RPG?

Definitely agree that the Paper Mario games had the most enjoyable system. Timed hits made the battles much more enjoyable.

Honorable mentions go to Wild Arms (characters were able to use new...

Re: Favorite RPG setting?

I enjoy games with futuristic elements the most just because I like to see all the ridiculous "technology" that is made. However, I enjoy medieval/fantasy games also because it seems like the most...

Re: Favorite Final Boss in Final Fantasy (Cartridge Era)

Did you legitimately grind your character's levels for that, MrMagic?

Re: Zelda: Ocarina of Time

I'm gonna fess up. I still haven't beaten OoT even though I still own it (on the collector's edition for GC). Every time I try to play it, I end up stopping myself and playing Majora's Mask instead....

Re: Friendship is Magic (current FFR Pony avatar count: >9000)

Yes, I was referring to the pilot, and "Sailor Moonish" is definitely the best way to describe it.

Re: Friendship is Magic (current FFR Pony avatar count: >9000)

Why does this show's plot sound like a poorly developed and oddly generic RPG?

Re: Favorite Final Boss in Final Fantasy (Cartridge Era)

My vote definitely goes to Chaos. The epic music is all that I need. The fight didn't last long enough though considering that I had a ninja and red wizard boosting my monk nonstop and a white wizard...

Re: Have games become too easy/mindless?

Metal Gear Solid 4. Can I leave it at that? The game is easy to beat on any difficulty if you know what to do. Once you start aiming for the medals though, that's where it begins showing that it is...

Re: Have games become too easy/mindless?

Has anyone else here happened to play Descent? It was an absolutely amazing game. It is the only FPS I know that has even attempted multi-directional controls and is still one of the most standout...

Re: Best Final Fantasy (Cartridge Era) Poll

I prefer the original FF mostly because of how simple it was. That said, I have yet to play FF6 beyond the first dungeon.

Re: Have games become too easy/mindless?

I can't completely agree with either side to this argument. Games are released to satisfy us players who recognize that games are made to simple. But because it's so profitable, developers continue...

Re: FFR Suggestions

In regards to the actual game there could be a way to narrow down what songs you want to come up at random rather than just difficulties. Perhaps being able to select different (and maybe multiple)...

Re: Is there a recent Need For Speed game with no cops???

I haven't played other games in the series, but Burnout Paradise is an extremely fun game. There's a bunch of stuff to do, but if you're not careful the game can loose its appeal quickly.

Re: Need suggestions for SNES / Dreamcast

I don't think that's a fair judgment for the game. It's not the most epic game in any way, but it is definitely a respectable (albeit easy and simple) RPG. Just know that it won't be an RPG in the...

Re: Best video game ever made?

I would agree with you on that. IMO Melee felt like a faster and smoother game and thus had a stronger draw to me. Brawl did bring quite a bit of improvements, but I found myself going back and...

Re: Best video game ever made?

My school must be pretty strange than. Probably half the people I know talk about Pokemon in some way (and most of it is serious discussion about the game).

Re: Best video game ever made?

Super Mario RPG by (my) definition is definitely an excellent RPG (and one of my favorites). It does have a plot that the game (to an extent) expands upon, but it is a far more comedic story than...

Re: Recommend me a Bluray player

I own a 160 GB slim, and that works fine for me. I might suggest an older model since they are cheaper now and backwards compatible with PS2 games. It doesn't really matter what size the the HD is...

Re: Recommend me a Bluray player

Definitely a PS3. It's got Bluray, some of the best games exclusive to a console, internet, and "everything" else. (I can't believe I just used Sony's slogan)
