I used to go to raves as a teen, I've been to an Armin Only, and I've been to EDC at least three times
a live setting amplifies any style of music, not just epic and atmospheric vocal edm

I'm convinced he took the bad use of sampling that was showcased on Landmarks and something just clicked for him, the field recordings on Xiexie are pretty tasteful and imo the album stands up there...
