I think it's more because he kept on messing up on Crash 2. His Sonic Adventure DX run was pretty much flawless except for maybe one or two little things.

Pretty much at the end of Super Metroid, if you go down to where you get the bombs during the escape sequence, you can open a path to have the animals that you come across during the game escape....
