Why should it matter that someone has to be D6 or D7 level to play a file? Harder files give me more motivation to get better so that I can actually play them and have fun instead of mashing.

I feel like cumulative scoring is unfair to the majority of the players. The lucky people that get put in their divisions with the highest skill at the beginning have the best chance to win....

Agreed. I have a lot of respect for the winners in d4/d5 because of how much they have improved. Their scores on their finals songs is just sick.

Nobody ever said he was. The point is, Beary and arcn ended up winning their divisions because of how much they skillboosted. Beary was in d3 and arcn was in d2. They are both in d6 now.

Beary was the winner of d3 in last year's official. He finished top 16 in d6 this official because of how much he skillboosted.

Well we're all here for fun. Many people enjoy listening to the music of the songs that they play. If a song is just noise, I can't see many people enjoying the file unless they put it on mute.
