Re: Tales of symphonia
I don't know why it gets so much hate. I talk to a lot of people and they just don't like it. Most of them have played Tales of the Abyss before hand so that might explain it.
I rented it when it first came out and I returned it almost a month overdue. I had some great times. Of course, I bought it. But I managed to squeeze as much out of a first playthrough I could. All in all, I have pounded everything I could have done. This is the only other game I have done so. The other one being Digital Devil Saga. Too bad I played Abyss because now I can't get used to the battle system thanks to no free running. Hopefully the new one coming out is like as good as this because if it is, I can expect a ton of time to be wasted. :D |
Re: Tales of symphonia
Er, level 80 is pretty bad.
The max level is 250 and I got to that about 30 hours into my second playthrough. I didn't bother with the 100%. I beat the game on the hardest difficulty and did all the optional side-missions. Abyss is a much better game. It's like apples and oranges. What a difference more realistic character models and free-running makes to a game. Also, a word of advice: Always assume people know what you're talking about. The question "has anyone ever heard of..." never gets a "no" from our forums, unless the post is satirical, like "has anyone ever played halo" "no, nobody has ever played halo. you are the only one who has ever played halo." |

I forgot that gamers Have almost played everything, Plus i dont own a ps2 anymore soo. i wouldn't no if Abyss is good. But still. In my opinion i like Tales. 100% is basicly side missions and everything its just if your hardcore yull go thru all the trouble of finding Presea's Gaia Cleaver and Regeal's Greaves But ok i get your point. |
Re: Tales of symphonia

Yeah yeah, I spent hundreds of hours playing this game, literally. I had multiple playthroughs and ALMOST had everything unlocked before my disc 1 mysteriously disappeared (don't ask me how I'm dumb enough to lose a disc of my 2nd favorite game lol). I liked to use Lloyd, Sheena, Presea and Regal. Please don't give me **** about using Sheena, she comboed well, which was fun. If you liked Zelos, kudos, he was good too but didn't have the big chest. I only got as high as level 102 or something, but IMO the higher the level the less skill you exhibit. I was able to beat the game at level 42 or something, which takes actual skill rather than having a higher number than your opponents. |
Re: Tales of symphonia
I did Abyssion at level 60 or so. I think I ended up at 65 for the final boss.
I was about the same for Abyss. Not a single fight was difficult in that game. |
Re: Tales of symphonia
On my low-level run I didn't fight Abyssion or any of that. Level 65 for Abyssion is really good IMO. Yes I realize people do things at level 1 but who cares, nice job Squeak.

Re: Tales of symphonia
Good fun 60 hours. I was at around level 74 at the last boss. Yeah, I have a tendency to fight everything I run into when I play RPGs.
Incidentally, 4 guys just finished an 8-hour NG run a couple weeks ago. http://www.youtube.com/view_play_lis...56B981A291DF88 |
Re: Tales of symphonia
Symphonia is the only Tales game I've played, and I really want to play some others after it. It's an incredibly good game.
I've poured roughly 130 hours into my copy, and I've pretty much done everything I wanted to do. Go through the game in mania mode, reach 100+ with all characters, beat Abyssion in mania mode (oh my god), go through Forbidden Anamesis or w/e it's called, etc. Devil arms are better than everyone's 'best' weapons if you bother to level them up. My Lloyd does ~2.7k per swing (versus dark angel guys) and ~10k rising falcon. =D P.S. Party is Lloyd, Kratos, Raine, and Genis. |
Re: Tales of symphonia
I always play this game with 4 people.
I never tried by myself. I beat this game 100% like Shash, but took much much longer. I don't remember any details... I played too many Tales games afterwards. |
Re: Tales of symphonia
i found everything like last year XD. there's a new tale series for the 360 i think. you should get that if you like symphonia.
|
Re: Tales of symphonia
Tales of vesperia isn't here yet, although by the look some of the gameplay videos,it's going to be awesome
|
Re: Tales of symphonia
I have it for PS2.
I don't remember much but I remember liking the graphic style, battle system and found it enjoyable. |
Re: Tales of symphonia
You had a different Tales game then because Symphonia is on the Gamecube and Vesperia has yet to come out and it's going to be on the 360.
