Important stuff

Graphics: We will need graphics for banners, backgrounds, and possible cdtitles.

Drum-artists: Try hard to make it go with the drums and not other instruments, also, make it feel like you're actually playing it (Snare on the left, crash/ride on the right, toms in middle etc.) and make different difficulties if possible(not nessesary). If you want, you can collab with other members. ANY LENGHTH IS ACCEPTED IF IT'S GOOD ENOUGH! Please use Pump it Up game mode to add a kick pedal as the middle note!

Judges: Judge on how well it goes to the drums and if at least 3 judges like it then it will get accepted. DO NOT REJECT IT BECAUSE OF SONG CHOICE. (Unless there's no drums :P)

Good luck, and have fun!

(Tip: If you want to make a snare roll, add a hold note so that they have to hit it repeatedly!)

DO NOT ADD HANDS (other than the kick), IT WILL GET AUTO-REJECTED FOR BEING IMPOSSIBLE!!

SEND YOUR SIMFILES TO smdrumpack@hotmail.com

Get judging! Keep sending files, if it's not in this pack, we could decide if we should make a second if this gets popular!

Re: Stepmania Drum Pack

Dude, I'll be a judge and make files for this.,

I play expert drums so I'd know what I'm doing.

Reviews:

Chillin With the Vilin - Customstuff - no, just no. It's a a song that should stay with a keyboard, to many errors also. Rejected

-Razor-Blade- - Customstuff - you missed a bass note at half of mesure 7. Mesure 28 has a lot of errors. Go through it again. Mesure 35, you added an extra bass note when there was no beat at all, take that out. Mesure 39, you added cowbell beats when there wasn't any beat there, also, when it goes like 1234 5 1234 that 5 is an 8th note, and now a 12th. From half of mesure 42 - 45, the cow bell is a constant beat, no breaks inbetween. Other then that, nice file. With these fixes, I'd prob accept it.

Edit: fix what dore said, then it'll be accepted.

Feel Good Hit of the Summer - dore - Not much I can say about this file, fun easy file, Accepted.

The Epidemic of Unexpected Relapses - dore - Again, amazing file, fun to play, Accepted

{I Don't Need You Anymore} - dore - hard file, nothing impossible, I don't understand the holds though, other then that, accepted.

I Would Walk 500 Miles - EnR - My file.
Still Afraid of Darkness - EnR - My file.
Confined - EnR - My file.
Champagne Bath - EnR - My file.

Click here for dore's reviews wut.

Re: Stepmania Drum Pack

I think I'm going to send out the new simfiles to the judges once a day to make sure that people can improve it if they need to. Basically post your judge notes whenever you're finished some.

Re: Stepmania Drum Pack

Make a pack email that we all get the password to.

Re: Stepmania Drum Pack

I'm confused how this is going to work. Does the Rock Band drums work for StepMania? Even then there are five buttons/pads on the set altogether and only four arrows in SM.

PMS-Jesus 07-25-2008 09:26 PM

Re: Stepmania Drum Pack

no bass pedal

dood gone krazee 07-25-2008 09:27 PM

Re: Stepmania Drum Pack

...Then how do you make the drum set work with SM?

Gibson63 07-25-2008 09:28 PM

Re: Stepmania Drum Pack

Re: Stepmania Drum Pack

go to the options, where you would normally change your keys.

left - tap red
down - tap yellow
up - tap blue
right - tap green

they all turn out as Joy1,2,3,4

EDIT: Gibson:

Take a rock song, step the drums only....

Re: Stepmania Drum Pack

Yeah, I was actually thinking of buying rockband drums just so I can use them on stepmania.
Seems like great fun.

Re: Stepmania Drum Pack

I'll definitely be making at least one file for this pack, and am willing to help judge if needed. 45 gold stars on expert drums, and counting.

Gibson63 07-25-2008 09:31 PM

Re: Stepmania Drum Pack

then nvm i suck at making stepfiles... but im good in rockband.... i got 100% enter sandman expert, ( got a picture) and ive been playing real drums for 3 years...maybe i can test the files..be a judge..what do you think?..that would be cool:)

PMS-Jesus 07-25-2008 09:35 PM

Re: Stepmania Drum Pack

So, any idea on how many files? I think 20-30 would be best.

Gibson63 07-25-2008 09:37 PM

Re: Stepmania Drum Pack

yeah and please vary the style, make some Rock,Metal,Alternative,Smooth Rock etc..

EDIT: can we use the pedal? or it would be impossible,

masamursha 07-25-2008 09:37 PM

Re: Stepmania Drum Pack

taking the bass pedal out of it makes it kind of lame but w/e it's probably the best you could do.

and in all honesty stepping files for drums wouldn't be too difficult because hit hat would always be on 2, ride would always be on 4, and then for fills and stuff just use 1 for snare and 2 3 and 4 for the other toms. Taking the bass drum pedal out of it takes a LOT out because you would pretty much have to ignore the bass hits in the song when they are obviously there. Maybe you could play it as pump it up or some thing l o l and that way you would have at least 5 notes so you could add the bass drum idk.

Gibson63 07-25-2008 09:40 PM

Re: Stepmania Drum Pack

it would be kinda difficult to look at 5 place at the same time..idk.. in rockband we have a yellow line ..not the same thing as an arrow..

EDIT: oh and custom would it be possible for me to be a judge? , been playing drums for 3 years etc.. like i stated in my other post , i would really like to test them^^

PMS-Jesus 07-25-2008 09:42 PM

Re: Stepmania Drum Pack

I have something in mind for bass pedals, I'll see how it works out.

buizel8888 07-25-2008 09:44 PM

Re: Stepmania Drum Pack

yeah if you cant make the bass pedal work, then this pack is going to die.

Decent pack idea though
