ATTN Game Threads regulars

This forum is for games and other common, interesting forum threads that don't really belong elsewhere (EDIT: I had to add this emphasis so that people might grow a brain and quit calling me a hypocrite when I lock their "post a word" threads while "The Last Letter Game" remains unlocked).

Not postwhoring.

That said, I'm going on a locking spree for all these stupid threads in here.

Make interesting games up, please. I've seen some lately that get sent to the second or third page because of craptacular postwhoring threads.

Mmkay?

EDIT: Okay, now, seriously. I can't believe some of the mindnumbingly dumb games y'all are coming up with, so I'm going to have to add the stipulation that if you're going to make up a new forum game, make sure it's not something devised to entertain a three year old and just converted to forum form.

Seriously, hot potato? Are you kidding me?

<3. For so long I've hated this section because it was just for postwhoring. Glad to see someone has finally acted to clean it up and make it perhaps a little more fun.

Can I still postwhore as long as I follow the rules and such?

EDIT: Ignore this and go to next post by me.

That's beyond ironic.

Appologies,

What I meant to say was.

Can I still participate like crazy while still following the rules?

Re: ATTN Game Threads regulars

I'm sure the answer to that would be yes. Though I'm also sure Guido can speak for himself at some point.

we just need to cut back on the games where only 2 people go back and forth rating avi's or siggy's

Re: ATTN Game Threads regulars

I just don't want anymore guess *insert number between insert number* win *insert amount of credits* games. Those suck.

Reaper is indeed correct, spinal.

Though I will probably be the primary judge of what's a good game and what's not, with any of the other mods coming in and cleaning up if they want to, too.

Question: Are we allowed to do like poetry contest type things where people can offer credits as a prize or is that not allowed?

That would probably be more suited in the Literature forum. But I'm not exactly sure, Guido gets the final decision.

Re: ATTN Game Threads regulars

well wouldnt it be considered a game? I like to host contests but since I'm new to this site, I wanted to get the ok first. I used to play on neopets.com where I was allowed to host all kinds of contests and I would still like to do it

Re: ATTN Game Threads regulars

Depends on the type of "game". You'll notice that I've locked a couple of threads even though they had credit prizes. Just because there's competition doesn't mean there's a good game.

A poetry contest would probably be better suited for the Literature forum, for the simple reason that it's more serious there.

Re: ATTN Game Threads regulars

so if I decide to do a poetry contest in the literature forum, and people start yelling at me and calling me a newbi and crap like that telling me I'm in the wrong forum, what do I say? Because there have been a lot of people making me feel unwelcome here and harrassing me about everything I do so I dont want to make that mistake.

So guess the stupid word and rig it so someone cool wins isn't a good game right?

Lol aww... I'm gonna miss that Itmorr. Oh well, Guido locks, thread goes, life goes on.

There was a game where you'd have to guess a word that someone was thinking of and you would win credits.

People thought it was rigged considering that who ever hosted it could change the word without anyone knowing.

Completely oblivious, you are.

Itmorr made the "I'm Thinking of a Word" series of threads in which he would give out 10k creds to who could correctly guess the word he was thinking of. BUT, Itmorr had it rigged by NOT THINKING OF A WORD and just playing with the game thread users. He would make false clues and things. He would then choose a random word that had nothing to do with the hints and clues he had given out before. Of course, since it was rigged, if you guessed the word correctly, he wouldn't give out the 10k he promised.

Just like I did, and we talked about it, and he told me everything. I'm sure everyone else who won also knew about this since they never received any creds...

But now, Guido locked it and we'll never see it again. Oh well. Itmorr was just trying to have some fun by messing around with the Game Threads.
