Ask me about the simpsons

Seriously, If it appeared in an episode, I probably know it.

Scratch that, I DO know it.

What is Lisa's middle name?

Metheawsome 03-1-2007 02:47 PM

Re: Ask me about the simpsons

First of all.... I'm fairly certain it has never been said, but it does begin with the letter M because she signed her name "L.M.S." on the episode that banned the teaching of evolution.

How many times has the running joke of Troy Macclure been in a Simpsons episode?

Seriously, I want to know.

Epic fail.

Re: Ask me about the simpsons

all right.... I seriously didn't see that in an E-P-I-S-O-D-E

That, my friend, is from a simpson book.

And the Troy Mclure gag has appeared 11 times, 12 if you count the episode he married Patty.

Yeah, you really don't have a clue about anything, do you.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troy_MacClure

Far more than 11 times there, I'm not even counting how many.

So far you are 0 / 2. Nice going.

Re: Ask me about the simpsons

Where do the Simpsons live.

Yes, there is an answer, and yes, it does appear in the show. You only have to watch two episodes to get it right, but three will really seal the deal.

How come the Simpsons are all yellow but every other race has there skin colour?

Re: Ask me about the simpsons

Well, I can't say for sure.

According to a producer, their address is:

742 Evergreen Terrace
Springfield, North Takoma, 40097

But it may be a bluff.

And for the yellow? Groening said something about it being different, bright, and making it look like "something's wrong with your TV set..."

North Takoma isn't a real state.

In the episodes I mentioned, there is irrefutable evidence that they live in a specific U.S. state.

@Squeek: I'd like to see this "evidence," as all of the features Springfield boasts tell me it's impossible to be a real state.

Near a FIVE-state junction?

Contains canyons, deserts, AND mountains?

A west side THREE TIMES the size of Texas?

Don't think so.

Due to these (and other) many contradictory clues, it is impossible for Springfield to exist in any set location. It's put mainly where it suits writers best for a given episode.

@pnt:
Lyle Lanley: Well, sir, there's nothing on earth
Like a genuine,
Bona fide,
Electrified,
Six-car
Monorail!
What'd I say?
Ned Flanders: Monorail!
Lyle Lanley: What's it called?
Patty+Selma: Monorail!
Lyle Lanley: That's right! Monorail!
[crowd chants `Monorail' softly and rhythmically]
Miss Hoover: I hear those things are awfully loud...
Lyle Lanley: It glides as softly as a cloud.
Apu: Is there a chance the track could bend?
Lyle Lanley: Not on your life, my Hindu friend.
Barney: What about us brain-dead slobs?
Lyle Lanley: You'll be given cushy jobs.
Abe: Were you sent here by the devil?
Lyle Lanley: No, good sir, I'm on the level.
Wiggum: The ring came off my pudding can.
Lyle Lanley: Take my pen knife, my good man.
I swear it's Springfield's only choice...
Throw up your hands and raise your voice!
All: Monorail!
Lyle Lanley: What's it called?
All: Monorail!
Lyle Lanley: Once again...
All: Monorail!
Marge: But Main Street's still all cracked and broken...
Bart: Sorry, Mom, the mob has spoken!
All: Monorail!
Monorail!
Monorail!
[big finish]
Monorail!
Homer: Mono... D'oh!

(Homer screws up again lol)

@Angel666:
I won't bore you with a list.

Some things are fictional, but it still exists somewhere.

And that somewhere is Arizona.

You missed the part in the Monorail song where he mentions where else Monorails have been. There's one city in the southwest he mentions. That city also happens to compete with Springfield in the State Band Competition in the Duncan the Race Horse episode. Therefore, they're in the same state.

How do I know it's Arizona? On the map Homer has of all the states the family is banned from visiting, Arizona is one of the only states not crossed off. There's no way they can live in a state they're banned from, and even though Homer laments that "Arizona smells funny", that's no reason they can't live there.

Damn it, that's right. Well done, Squeek.

I re-read and it all fits XD

You're good.

Squeek 03-2-2007 01:42 PM

Re: Ask me about the simpsons

Yeah, well, it's the only logical choice.

It's probably wrong, but it's really the only one that works with the information given.

And I doubt the creators had that in mind at all.
